Position Summary:
As a Retail Assistant you provide administrative support to the Director of Retail. Using administrative and computer skills, clear professional customer service, provide assistance to members and guests. On-the-job training is typical in this position, but a formal education in merchandising and retail is a plus.
Essential Functions:
- Providing administrative support to the Director of Retail
- Maintain and update spreadsheets, purchase orders and sales reports
- Monitor purchase orders to ensure prompt and timely delivery
- Other duties can include coordinating promotional plans, following up with customer service claims and processing special orders for members and guests
- Processing invoices with new retail merchandise, tagging all new merchandise, assisting retail outlets with with merchandising
- Computer skills in spreadsheet and word-processing software are necessary
- Strong personal and customer service skills to converse easily with associates, guests, and members
- Must have strong analytical and decision-making skills, as well as knowledge of basic math principles, and strong attention to detail and accuracy skills are critical
Minimum Knowledge and Skills:
Must have basic knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
Formal Education and Job-Related Experience:
This position requires a minimum formal education of a high school diploma. Some experience with retail Point of Sale, inventory software, and retail experience though not required, would be beneficial.
