About this role

Description

Do you want to build the tools and processes that make supply chain planning faster and smarter? Amazon's Global Transportation Services (GTS) Planning Products team is looking for a Supply Chain Manager III to define problems, design solutions, and drive productivity improvements across our outbound transportation network planning operations. As the team invests in using AI to automate manual planning processes and build more robust systems, this is a compelling time to join and shape how that transformation takes hold.

This is a highly collaborative, individual contributor role where you will work side by side with planners to understand their workflows, identify improvement areas, and write clear problem statements. From there, you will partner with technology teams to build tooling solutions and with operational partners to implement process changes. You will work with optimization models, capacity planning tools, and product management tools to turn undefined challenges into concrete products. If you thrive in ambiguity and want visibility with senior leadership, this role is for you.

Key job responsibilities
- Define problem statements by embedding with planners to understand planning workflows, then partner with technology teams to design and deliver tooling solutions — including optimization models and capacity planning tools — that improve productivity across the outbound transportation network.
- Analyze supply chain planning data to identify root causes behind performance gaps and propose scalable process or system improvements, with a focus on automating manual processes through AI-driven approaches.
- Lead weekly product update meetings with leadership, business, and tech stakeholders, and prepare monthly and quarterly business reviews to communicate progress, trade-offs, and recommendations.
- Collaborate with Data Engineers, Data Scientists, and Product Managers to implement technical improvements to reporting and planning mechanisms.
- Develop metrics and monitoring dashboards that enable stakeholders to track planning performance and make informed decisions.

A day in the life
Your work is almost entirely collaborative and roadmap-driven. You might start the morning reviewing capacity planning outputs or optimization model results to refine a problem statement, then meet with planners to validate your findings. After lunch, you could be in a working session with a tech team scoping requirements for a new AI-powered automation tool. Later in the week, you run a product update meeting with leadership, business, and tech stakeholders to share progress and align on priorities. You will also prepare and present monthly and quarterly business reviews, giving you regular visibility with senior leaders.

About the team
The GTS Planning Products team keeps Amazon's outbound transportation network planning processes current and pushes them forward. We are investing in AI and automation to replace manual workflows with robust, scalable systems. We build solutions for the broader planning organization and partner with carrier teams, tech teams, and operations to integrate these into our planning tools. This role offers growth in the product space — you will build expertise in optimization models, capacity planning, and the latest tooling trends while developing deep knowledge of network planning. Through business reviews and product launch communications, you will gain regular exposure to senior leadership and the chance to shape how Amazon plans transportation at scale.

Basic Qualifications

- 5+ years of program or project management experience
- 5+ years of supply chain experience
- Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements
- Experience owning program strategy, end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership

Preferred Qualifications

- 2+ years of driving process improvements experience
- Master's degree, or MBA in business, operations, human resources, adult education, organizational development, instructional design or related field
