Description
The Chicken Production Assistant reports to the BOH Meat Supervisor and is responsible for all BOH duties listed below. Must be able to lift and move 50lb cases on a daily basis.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Accurately traying pre-cut and graded chicken parts that they receive for the Chicken Production Team.
- Handle Raw Poultry.
- Able to follow production lists in real time.
- Apply all safety/health protocols set in place by the company and federal/state/local law.
- Establish and maintain a working relationship with all peers and supervisors.
- Demonstrate and support a high level of integrity. Represent Freshfields Farm in a courteous and professional manner while interacting with all vendors, customers, and coworkers.
- Occasionally operate an electronic and or manual pallet jack in a safe and efficient manner after being trained.
- Use ladders for various purposes throughout the building.
- Assist with any other tasks within the building that require additional manpower.
- Occasionally use a manual/automated wrapping machine for the purpose of packing raw meat.
- Organizing cooler before and after production hours.
- Nightly cleaning of the meat production area, cutting room, saws, and meat grinders.
- Occasionally running trash for the Meat Department throughout the day.

The associate will also be required to lift objects that weight as much as 50lbs and team lift anything over 50lbs.

- While performing the duties of this job, the associate is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to high.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma required.
REQUIRED SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Follow instructions from multiple supervisors at one time.
