- Hourly Range: $25.12 - $27.71 (Determined by function, education, experience, and qualifications of the applicant. A 15% salary uplift is provided on top of base salary for positions that are worked in New York City or San Francisco, which is subject to change depending on market conditions.)

## Program Overview:
Bechtel's U.S. Summer Internship Program provides students with an opportunity to gain meaningful, hands-on experience while working alongside industry professionals on projects and initiatives that impact communities around the world. The program is a structured 10-week summer experience, typically held from mid-June through mid-August, designed to help students translate classroom learning into practical application through challenging assignments, professional development activities, and exposure to Bechtel's global business.
Interns are treated as valuable members of the team and are assigned work that contributes directly to business objectives. Throughout the internship, participants are encouraged to build technical and professional skills, expand their industry knowledge, and develop relationships with leaders and peers across the organization.
The internship experience combines real project work, professional development programming, networking opportunities, executive speaker sessions, mentorship, and end-of-program presentations to help students gain a deeper understanding of their chosen career path while exploring future opportunities with Bechtel.
## Work Locations & Assignments
Opportunities are available across Bechtel's Global Business Units (GBU) and functional organizations. Final assignment location, business unit placement, and specific responsibilities will be determined based on business needs, candidate qualifications, and organizational priorities.
Assignments may be located in a project field environment, regional office, or corporate office setting depending on business needs. Successful candidates should be flexible and willing to work in a variety of locations and environments in support of Bechtel's projects and business operations. This may include opportunities at construction sites, project execution offices, or functional and corporate service organizations.
## Job Summary:
The Cybersecurity Intern will support one or more functions within Bechtel’s Cybersecurity and Risk Management (CSRM) organization. Assignments may include activities related to cyber operations, security monitoring, incident response, risk management, compliance, security assessments, threat intelligence, vulnerability management, or other cybersecurity programs.
The intern will work alongside experienced cybersecurity professionals and gain practical exposure to how Bechtel identifies, assesses, monitors, and responds to cybersecurity risks and threats affecting its information, systems, and business operations.
## Major Responsibilities:
Supports cybersecurity activities across Cyber Operations, Risk Management, or Threat Intelligence, including monitoring, research, analysis, assessment, reporting, documentation, and continuous improvement efforts that strengthen Bechtel’s overall cybersecurity posture.
Other Responsibilities
- Supports one or more cybersecurity functions based on business priorities, organizational needs, and the intern’s interests and skills.
- Assists with monitoring and reviewing cybersecurity alerts, events, or other security information.
- Supports incident response activities through research, documentation, data collection, and tracking assigned actions.
- Assists with cybersecurity risk assessments, security reviews, compliance activities, control evaluations, and remediation tracking.
- Supports the development and maintenance of cybersecurity policies, standards, procedures, and program documentation.
- Researches emerging cyber threats, vulnerabilities, threat actors, attack methods, and industry trends.
- Assists with the collection, analysis, and communication of threat intelligence relevant to Bechtel’s operations and projects.
- Helps prepare cybersecurity reports, briefings, dashboards, metrics, or situational awareness materials.
- Supports vulnerability management activities, including research, tracking, reporting, and coordination of remediation efforts.
- Assists with third-party risk management, supplier security reviews, and collection of relevant documentation.
- Participates in cybersecurity awareness, training, and communication initiatives.
- Collaborates with cybersecurity, information technology, project, and business teams on assigned activities.
- Participates in process improvement efforts and helps document recommendations, lessons learned, or opportunities for improvement.
- Performs other cybersecurity assignments as needed to support organizational priorities
## Education and Experience Requirements:
Basic Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in a four-year Bachelor's program in Cybersecurity, Information Systems, Computer Science, Risk Management, Business/MIS, or a related field at an accredited college or university.
- Completed at least one year of undergraduate studies in one of the above fields.
- Possess the eligibility to work and remain in the US without visa sponsorship, now or in the future.
- Ability and willingness to relocate and/or travel to domestic and/or international project jobsites.
- Must be able to pass pre-employment drug screen and background check.
Preferred Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in a Master's program in one of the above fields.
- Completed relevant coursework with a strong GPA.
- Exposure to risk, compliance, or audit frameworks (i.e., NIST, ISO 27001, SOC 2).
- Strong analytical and Excel/data skills.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
