About this role
At Broadridge, we've built a culture where the highest goal is to empower others to accomplish more. If you’re passionate about developing your career, while helping others along the way, come join the Broadridge team.
Broadridge is seeking an early-career Full Stack Developer to help build secure, scalable, and intuitive business applications. This role is ideal for a recent graduate with practical experience in JavaScript, React, Stencil.js, Java, and Spring Boot who is eager to grow in an agile engineering environment.
The successful candidate will contribute across the software development lifecycle (SDLC), from requirements refinement and implementation through testing, deployment, and production support. The role requires a practical understanding of artificial intelligence (AI), including how to apply AI responsibly to improve engineering outcomes. Over time, the developer will work productively in a human-and-agent delivery model alongside AI agents and engineering teammates
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, debug, and maintain full-stack software features using JavaScript, React, Stencil.js, Java, and Spring Boot.
- Build accessible, reusable user-interface components and integrate them with secure, reliable backend services and APIs
- Participate actively in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, backlog refinement, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
- Translate user stories, acceptance criteria, and technical designs into high-quality, maintainable code.
- Write and maintain unit, integration, and end-to-end tests; investigate defects and contribute to continuous quality improvements.
- Collaborate with product owners, designers, quality engineers, architects, and senior developers to deliver customer-focused outcomes.
- Follow established engineering standards for source control, peer review, documentation, security, performance, observability, and release management
- Support application troubleshooting and production issue resolution, escalating risks and blockers promptly.
AI and Agent-Enabled Engineering
- Demonstrate a working understanding of generative AI concepts, including prompting, context management, model limitations, hallucinations, bias, privacy, and secure use of AI-enabled tools.
- Use approved AI-assisted development tools to support research, code generation, test creation, documentation, debugging, and refactoring, while independently validating all outputs
- Apply AI thoughtfully across the SDLC, including requirements analysis, solution design, coding, code review, quality assurance, incident analysis, and knowledge management
- Identify suitable tasks for AI agents, provide clear context and guardrails, review agent outputs, and integrate validated results into the engineering workflow.
- Work effectively in a team of human engineers and AI agents by communicating task context, documenting decisions, and escalating uncertainty or potential risk.
- Protect confidential information, customer data, intellectual property, credentials, and proprietary source code when using AI-enabled tools; follow all Broadridge AI, security, and data-handling policies
- Share practical learnings and propose responsible, measurable improvements to AI-enabled software delivery practices.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical discipline; equivalent practical experience may be considered.
- 1–3 years of relevant software-development experience, including internships, co-op assignments, academic projects, or professional experience.
- Hands-on experience developing web applications with JavaScript and React.
- Familiarity with Stencil.js or a comparable web-component framework, with willingness to work extensively in Stencil.js.
- Hands-on experience with Java and Spring Boot for backend application or RESTful API development.
- Understanding of HTML, CSS, responsive design, web accessibility, REST APIs, JSON, and modern software development practices.
- Experience using Git and participating in collaborative source-control workflows, including branching, pull requests, and peer reviews.
- Basic knowledge of relational and/or non-relational databases, application security principles, and automated testing
- Understanding of Agile/Scrum delivery practices and the ability to work effectively in sprint-based teams.
- Demonstrated curiosity about AI and the ability to explain how AI can be used responsibly to improve one or more SDLC activities.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, written communication, and collaboration skills.
- Requires 2x a week in the Newark, NJ office
Preferred Qualification
- Experience with TypeScript, Node.js, microservices, cloud platforms, containers, CI/CD pipelines, or DevOps practices
- Exposure to test automation frameworks and quality practices such as test-driven development or behavior-driven development.
- Coursework, certification, projects, hackathons, or practical demonstrations involving generative AI, machine learning, AI coding assistants, or agentic workflows.
- Experience using AI tools to generate test cases, summarize technical documentation, support code reviews, or assist with root-cause analysis, with appropriate human validation.
- Interest in financial technology, regulated environments, enterprise platforms, or customer-facing digital products.
Compensation Range: The salary range for this position is between $85,000 - $90,000 USD. Broadridge considers various factors when evaluating a candidate's final salary including, but not limited to, relevant experience, skills, international locations and education.
