Position Summary:

The Maintenance Technician 2 will perform or assist in a variety of skilled, semi-skilled and manual tasks in Building & Industrial Maintenance.

Accountabilities:

- Operate power-driven equipment safely and effectively in support of maintenance activities.
- Perform a wide range of duties to install, maintain and repair production machinery and facility equipment.
- Perform basic machining tasks as needed to support maintenance and repair activities.
- Perform emergency and unscheduled repairs during production and complete scheduled maintenance and repairs during planned equipment service.
- Perform plumbing, carpentry and other general facility maintenance and repair tasks as needed.
- Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on production machinery, equipment, and facility systems.
- Read and interpret equipment manuals, work orders and technical documentation to perform required maintenance and repairs.
- Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems on production machinery and equipment.
- Independently resolve routine and complex work-related problems and provide recommendations to supervisory personnel regarding technical issues or unusual circumstances.
- May serve as the lead on assigned maintenance or repair projects, coordinating work activities as needed.

Qualifications:

- 2+ years' maintenance and repair experience, including operating industrial equipment.
- Working knowledge of electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic and plumbing systems required.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective, collaborative working relationships with others.
- Ability to read and interpret shop drawings, sketches, technical documentation and work orders.
- Ability to safely and effectively use a variety of hand and power tools, testing equipment and maintenance equipment.
- Ability to safely operate forklifts, scissor lifts and boom lifts.
- Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions and communicate effectively with others.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Manufacturing experience preferred.
- Associate Degree in Industrial Maintenance, Electrical Technology, Mechanical Technology or a related field required; completion of a relevant skilled-trades apprenticeship preferred.
