About this role

CoCo Key Hotel & Water Resort Orlando is seeking a friendly, energetic, and guest-focused Pool Hospitality Host to create an exceptional experience for guests enjoying our pool and waterpark areas.

The Pool Hospitality Host serves as a welcoming presence throughout the pool area, assisting guests with seating, amenities, food and beverage needs, and general questions while maintaining a clean, organized, and inviting environment. This position requires excellent customer service skills, strong communication, and the ability to work comfortably in a fast-paced outdoor environment.

Key Responsibilities

- Warmly welcome guests arriving at the front pool and provide a friendly first impression.

- Serve as a visible hospitality presence throughout the pool area.

- Operate the poolside beverage truck during assigned shifts.

- Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages in accordance with recipes, service standards, and applicable laws.

- Take Food & Beverage orders accurately and efficiently.

- Process guest transactions and follow all established cash-handling and payment procedures.

- Provide knowledgeable and friendly service while answering guest questions about Food & Beverage offerings and resort amenities.

- Recommend beverages, food items, and other offerings when appropriate to enhance the guest experience and support sales.

- Monitor the pool area and proactively assist guests with their needs.

- Regularly walk and inspect the pool area to ensure tables, chairs, and surrounding areas are clean, organized, and presentable.

- Clear used dishes, cups, trash, and other items from the pool area as needed.

- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the beverage truck, equipment, service areas, and surrounding pool area.

- Restock beverages, supplies, cups, ice, condiments, and other necessary items throughout the shift.

- Communicate inventory or supply needs to management.

- Immediately report spills, damaged equipment, maintenance concerns, hazards, or other issues to the appropriate manager.

- Follow all responsible alcohol service requirements and verify identification when required.

- Monitor guest behavior and promptly communicate safety or service concerns to management, security, or the appropriate Waterpark team member.

- Work closely with Lifeguards, Waterpark Operations, Housekeeping, and other Food & Beverage team members to maintain a safe, clean, and enjoyable pool environment.

- Assist with opening and closing procedures for the beverage truck and pool area.

- Follow all company standards for sanitation, food handling, cleanliness, guest service, and appearance.

- Maintain a professional, positive, and approachable demeanor throughout the shift.

- Perform other duties as assigned by management.

The Pool Hospitality Host is expected to create an energetic and welcoming poolside atmosphere by:

- Maintaining a clean and inviting pool environment.

- Creating positive interactions with guests and families.

- Providing quick, accurate, and friendly Food & Beverage service.

- Addressing guest questions and concerns professionally.

- Representing CoCo Key's hospitality standards at all times.

Qualifications

- Previous hotel, resort, restaurant, bar, pool, waterpark, or customer service experience preferred.

- Bartending or beverage service experience preferred.

- Strong customer service and communication skills.

- Comfortable preparing and serving both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages.

- Ability to handle cash and credit card transactions accurately.

- Must be comfortable working with guests in a busy poolside environment.

- Must be able to work outdoors in hot and humid conditions for extended periods.

- Ability to work weekends, holidays, evenings, and peak resort periods.

- Must be at least 18 years of age if required to prepare or serve alcoholic beverages.

- Responsible alcohol service certification and/or other required certifications must be maintained as applicable.

Physical Requirements

- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.

- Ability to work outdoors in direct sunlight, heat, and humidity.

- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull Food & Beverage supplies and equipment.

- Ability to bend, reach, stoop, and move throughout the pool area.

- Ability to safely perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.
