Directly supervise the mailroom clerk. Responsible for performing postal duties in the mailroom requiring familiarity with rules, regulations, policies, and procedures in
compliance with Management & Training Corporation (MTC) and customer directives.

What you will do
- Coordinate the processing of all incoming and outgoing detainee correspondence, prepare forms and maintain records and files related to detainee correspondence.
- Sort, open, inspect and scan detainee correspondence. Maintain related records. Deliver detainee mail.
- Act as authorized courier for receipt of registered, special delivery or other mails received for employees and/or detainees.
- Sort departmental mail.
- Provide information and responses to inquiries regarding routine mailroom procedures.
- Maintain contact with US Postal Service personnel and private mail carriers (i.e. UPS, Federal Express, etc.).
- Operate postal equipment and ascertain postage needed.
- Prepare various forms related to the processing of detainee correspondence and mailroom functions.
- Deliver outgoing mail each afternoon to the post office.
- Requires regular pushing and pulling of mail carts.
What you will need
- High school diploma or GED, two (2) years related mailroom experience required
- US Citizenship or Lawful US Permanent Resident required.
- Prior supervisory experience highly desired.
- Must successfully complete required preservice training.
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record required, unless waived by management.
