Everett Ship Repair is the Pacific Northwests Premier Ship Repair Facility. Founded in 2019, Everett Ship Repair ("ESR") offers vast ship repair capabilities from its facility in Everett, Washington, for all types of commercial vessels, with a focus on commercial workboats and passenger vessels. We are seeking an experienced Pipefitter Foreman who will lead the efforts of Journeyman and Apprentice Pipefitters under his or her supervision and motivate them to accomplish work safely, correctly, and efficiently. Assigned scope of work will include oversight of piping system installation, repair, modification, testing, and troubleshooting aboard vessels undergoing repair, maintenance, and conversion. The Pipefitter Foreman will serve as a working leader who coordinates labor, materials, equipment, and production priorities while supporting project schedules, quality requirements, and safety objectives.

What You Will Do

- Lead and coordinate the daily efforts of Journeyman and Apprentice Pipefitters assigned to vessel repair and modernization projects.

- Provide direction to assigned employees, including work assignments, task prioritization, conflict resolution, coaching, and performance feedback.

- Meet project objectives related to schedule, quality, productivity, and cost for assigned work scopes.

- Plan and coordinate manpower requirements to support production schedules and project milestones.

- Review project drawings, specifications, work packages, and technical requirements to ensure proper execution of piping work.

- Oversee installation, repair, testing, and modification of marine piping systems including fuel oil, hydraulic, seawater, potable water, fire suppression, bilge and ballast, HVAC, exhaust, and other shipboard systems.

- Ensure employees have the necessary tools, materials, specifications, permits, and equipment required to perform assigned work.

- Coordinate pressure testing, flushing, inspections, and turnover activities with Quality Assurance and Production Management.

- Monitor workmanship and quality standards throughout assigned projects and ensure deficiencies are corrected promptly.

- Conduct toolbox meetings and reinforce company safety culture and safe work practices.

- Ensure compliance with shipyard safety requirements, confined space procedures, lockout/tagout requirements, and applicable regulatory standards.

- Review employee timecards for proper labor charging and phase coding and ensure timely submission.

- Attend production meetings and coordinate work activities with Shipfitters, Welders, Machinists, Electricians, Project Managers, and Quality Assurance personnel.

- Assist with estimating efforts by providing labor projections, production feedback, and constructability recommendations.

- Develop and maintain positive working relationships with employees, supervisors, project teams, customers, and stakeholders.

- Mentor apprentices and support employee development through training, coaching, and knowledge sharing.

- Serve as a technical resource regarding shipboard piping systems, fabrication methods, testing requirements, and installation best practices.

Qualifications

What You Bring to Our Team

- Four (4) years of directly related leadership experience or eight (8) years of directly related shipbuilding or ship repair experience.

- Highly qualified Journeyman Pipefitter with demonstrated leadership abilities.

- Extensive knowledge of marine piping systems, shipboard equipment, ship construction methods, and ship repair practices.

- Ability to read, interpret, and execute work from drawings, specifications, isometrics, schematics, and technical documents.

- Knowledge of pressure testing, system commissioning, troubleshooting, and quality control requirements.

- Effective leadership, communication, organizational, and team-building skills.

- Ability to direct and coordinate the work of others while maintaining positive working relationships.

- Knowledge of shipyard safety practices, vessel terminology, and production workflows.

- Ability to work aboard vessels, climb ladders, enter tanks and confined spaces, and wear required personal protective equipment.

- Ability to utilize Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and other production-related software applications.

- Ability to physically transit all areas of the shipyard and work in outdoor environments throughout the year.

What Additional Things Would Distinguish You

- Previous experience serving as a Pipefitter Lead, Foreman, or Supervisor in a shipyard environment.

- Experience with commercial ship repair, vessel modernization, and government vessel projects.

- Experience coordinating work across multiple trades during vessel availabilities.

- Knowledge of NAVSEA standards, military specifications, and marine regulatory requirements.

- Experience reading and interpreting project schedules using Microsoft Project.

- Previous involvement in apprenticeship training, workforce development, or trade instruction.
