About the Role:
Boston Scientific is seeking a strategic leader to serve as Vice President, Health Economics & Market Access (HEMA) for Vascular Therapies. As a member of the VT Leadership Team, this senior leader will define and lead the global HEMA strategy, ensuring market access, reimbursement, health economics, evidence generation, and value communication are integrated across portfolio strategy, product development, commercialization, and lifecycle management.
The Vice President will partner across global, regional, and functional teams to expand patient access, support technology adoption, demonstrate value, and drive sustainable business growth. This leader will also build and develop a high-performing global HEMA organization while shaping future market access capabilities across the franchise.
Your Responsibilities Will Include :
Global HEMA Strategy and Business Leadership
- Define and lead the global HEMA vision and strategy for the Vascular Therapies portfolio, aligned with business objectives and growth priorities.
- Serve as a strategic member of the Vascular Therapies leadership team, advising on market access, reimbursement, health policy, and economic trends.
- Establish HEMA priorities, investments, and measures of success to support patient access and commercial performance.
- Drive alignment and execution of HEMA strategies across Vascular Therapies and the broader enterprise.
Portfolio and Product Strategy
- Integrate market access, reimbursement, health economics, and evidence strategies into portfolio planning, product development, commercialization, and lifecycle management.
- Lead global HEMA strategies for new and existing products, including coverage, coding, payment, evidence generation, and value communication.
- Partner cross-functionally to identify opportunities, mitigate risks, and support product launches, indication expansions, and business development activities.
- Ensure market access considerations inform portfolio prioritization and investment decisions.
Reimbursement and Market Access
- Lead global market access strategies that support coverage, coding, payment, and adoption of Vascular Therapies technologies.
- Provide expertise in global reimbursement environments, payer expectations, health technology assessment, and U.S. healthcare policy.
- Partner with regional teams to ensure strategies address local market needs while maintaining global alignment.
- Engage external stakeholders, including payers, providers, policymakers, and professional societies, to advance patient access and reimbursement objectives.
Health Economics, Evidence, and Value Communication
- Establish evidence-generation and health economics priorities that demonstrate the clinical, economic, and healthcare system value of Vascular Therapies technologies.
- Partner with Clinical, Medical Affairs, and other functions to develop evidence strategies that address payer, provider, and policy needs.
- Oversee the development of economic analyses, real-world evidence, value propositions, reimbursement resources, and customer value tools.
- Translate complex health economic and market access insights into actionable business recommendations and compelling value communications.
Commercialization and Customer Partnership
- Partner with regional, field, and commercial teams to support product launches, customer engagement, and market access execution.
- Leverage customer, payer, and market insights to inform portfolio strategy, evidence development, and commercialization plans.
- Equip teams with reimbursement, health economics, and value communication tools that support customer adoption.
- Support strategic engagement with health systems, payers, government stakeholders, and key opinion leaders.
Global Functional Leadership
- Lead, develop, and inspire a global HEMA organization focused on market access, reimbursement, evidence generation, and value communication.
- Build organizational capabilities, operating models, and governance that support evolving business needs.
- Attract, develop, and retain top talent while building a strong leadership and succession pipeline.
- Foster collaboration and influence across a complex, global matrixed organization.
Operational Excellence, Compliance, and Quality
- Establish governance, processes, and operating standards that enable effective execution of HEMA strategies.
- Ensure all HEMA activities comply with applicable legal, regulatory, quality, and company requirements.
- Drive continuous improvement of operating models, tools, and processes to enhance effectiveness and collaboration.
- Maintain the highest standards of scientific integrity, professionalism, patient safety, and product quality.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in health economics, public health, business, life sciences, or a related field.
- 15+ years of progressive experience in Health Economics, Market Access, reimbursement, health policy, or related healthcare disciplines.
- 10+ years of leadership experience, including leading global teams and senior professionals.
- Proven success developing and executing global HEMA strategies that advance patient access, evidence generation, and commercial growth.
- Deep knowledge of global healthcare systems, reimbursement environments, and market access requirements, including strong expertise in U.S. payer, coding, and payment systems.
- Experience integrating market access and health economics strategies into product development, evidence generation, commercialization, and lifecycle management.
- Significant medical device industry experience and strong understanding of global MedTech business operations.
- Demonstrated ability to influence, lead, and drive results within complex, global matrix organizations.
- Track record of building high-performing teams, developing talent, and leading organizational capability growth.
- Strong executive presence, communication skills, and ability to translate complex healthcare and economic insights into business strategy and action. Significant experience communicating with internal and external stakeholders.
- Based in Maple Grove, Minnesota (Arbor Lake) with a hybrid work schedule.
- Approximately 30% travel, depending on business needs.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Advanced degree (MBA, MPH, MHA, MS, PhD, PharmD, JD, or equivalent) in a relevant discipline.
- Experience with vascular disease, peripheral vascular interventions, arterial or venous therapies, or related interventional technologies.
- Experience working with health technology assessment bodies and global market access organizations.

Compensation will be commensurate with demonstrable level of experience and training, pertinent education including licensure and certifications, among other relevant business or organizational needs. Compensation for non-exempt (hourly), non-sales roles may also include variable compensation from time to time (e.g., any overtime and shift differential) and annual bonus target (subject to plan eligibility and other requirements).
