What You'll Do

Nursing Leadership & Operations

- Direct multiple nursing and patient care departments.
- Foster a culture of clinical excellence, accountability, and teamwork.
- Lead evidence-based nursing practice and shared governance initiatives.
- Support workforce planning, staffing, retention, and employee engagement.
- Mentor and develop nurse managers and clinical leaders.

Quality, Safety & Regulatory Compliance

- Drive patient safety, quality outcomes, and regulatory readiness.
- Ensure compliance with Joint Commission, CMS, HIPAA, and state regulations.
- Lead accreditation, quality improvement, and patient experience initiatives.
- Promote safe, effective, and patient-centered care delivery.

Financial & Strategic Leadership

- Manage departmental operating and capital budgets.
- Monitor productivity, labor management, and cost-control initiatives.
- Analyze operational and financial performance metrics.
- Develop business plans to support new programs and service growth.

Physician & Community Partnerships

- Build strong relationships with physicians and interdisciplinary teams.
- Collaborate on patient care delivery and service line development.
- Represent Mercy within community and professional organizations.
- Support academic partnerships and healthcare workforce development.

Qualifications

Required

- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Master's degree in nursing, Healthcare Administration, or related field, or commitment to obtain
- Two or more years of Nurse Manager experience in an acute care hospital setting
- Proven experience in nursing operations, quality improvement, staff development, and budget management
- Excellent communication, leadership, and relationship-building skills

Preferred

- Nationally recognized nursing certification
- Progressive leadership experience overseeing multiple clinical departments
- Experience leading hospital-based nursing teams within a complex healthcare environment
