The Role

We are looking for a strategic and commercially minded media leader to lead National and Retail Media across Wella Company's US portfolio. This role will connect brand and retailer priorities to build integrated media plans that drive consumer demand, retail sales, and measurable business growth.

You will lead media strategy and investment planning, oversee agency execution, and partner closely with Marketing, Sales, eCommerce, Influencer, and Analytics teams. The ideal candidate understands both National and Retail Media and knows how to connect the two into one cohesive consumer and investment strategy.

Key Responsibilities

Media Strategy & Investment

- Lead integrated National and Retail Media strategy across Wella Company's US brands, with a focus on Ulta, Target, and Walmart.

- Translate brand, consumer, sales, and retailer objectives into clear, data-driven media plans.

- Develop annual and quarterly media investment recommendations across National and Retail Media.

- Identify opportunities to improve the media mix, test new channels, and drive stronger business results.

- Serve as the media lead across Marketing, Sales, eCommerce, Influencer, and Trade Marketing, ensuring media plans reflect both brand priorities and retailer/commercial needs.

- Influence stakeholders at multiple levels through clear, data-driven recommendations and strategic storytelling.

- Connect media investment decisions to commercial outcomes, including sales, revenue, ROI/ROAS, and retailer performance.

Media Activation & Agency Leadership

- Lead day-to-day relationships with media agencies and ensure strong execution across campaigns.

- Set clear objectives, KPIs, and expectations for agency partners.

- Challenge agency recommendations and identify opportunities to improve effectiveness and efficiency.

- Oversee campaign execution, pacing, optimization, and post-campaign analysis.

- Manage media budgets and ensure accurate financial tracking, purchase order management, and reconciliation.

- Sources and produces engaging content to ensure the blog and social media channels are up to date, relevant and interesting

- Community management - Monitors and replies to messages and comments in a timely, professional manner

- Tracks social media engagement to identify high-performing ideas and campaigns for scalability

Minimum Qualifications

- 7+ years of progressive experience in media, with meaningful experience across both National Media and Retail/Commerce Media.

- Strong experience across the retail media ecosystem, including platforms such as Walmart Connect, Roundel (Target), and Ulta Beauty Media.

- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Advertising, Communications, Business, or a related field.

- Demonstrated success managing multimillion-dollar media budgets and optimizing investments against business objectives, ROI, ROAS, and incrementality goals.

- Experience leading agency relationships and connecting strategy and execution across multiple media agency partners.

- Strong commercial mindset with the ability to connect media performance to sales and business outcomes.

- Exceptional analytical, communication, project management, and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience in consumer packaged goods, beauty, personal care, or related consumer brands.

- Strong working knowledge of major media platforms including Google, Meta, Amazon Ads, TikTok, YouTube, DSPs, and retail media networks; hands-on platform experience is a plus.

- Experience leveraging marketing mix modeling, advanced attribution, audience strategy, and data-driven planning approaches to optimize investment decisions.

We disclose the compensation range for positions in compliance with local law. Actual salaries will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to location, experience, skills and in comparison to internal incumbents currently in similar roles. Pay Range: $125,000 - $145,000 salary per year. The range listed is just one component of Wella Company's total rewards package for employees. Other rewards may include annual bonus plan or variable pay, depending on the role.
