About Our Family
We are a warm, active family with two elementary school-aged children and a full weekly rhythm of school, activities, appointments, work, pets, and time together. We enjoy welcoming friends and family into our home and value an environment that feels comfortable, organized, and easy to live in.
One parent works outside the home several days each week, while the other is more present in the daily household routine. Scheduling and planning are shared responsibilities, and this role will communicate and collaborate equally with both parents. We are looking for someone who will learn our patterns, understand how our household operates, and help keep everyone informed without needing constant direction.
Our children have distinct personalities. We want someone who can connect genuinely with both children as people and really get to know them. We are looking for someone who, over time, will become a trusted, familiar presence in their lives.
Our ideal Family Assistant will bring constant steadiness and initiative to a busy household. By managing transportation, household details, appointments, errands, vendors, and childcare, this person will help create more space for family connection, travel, and time together.
Who You Are / What We’re Looking For
You are a grounded, highly capable, and experienced Family Assistant/ House Manager who enjoys supporting both a family and the systems that keep a household running smoothly. You have strong executive functioning skills and naturally notice what needs attention. Rather than waiting to be given a list, you assess priorities, take initiative, and communicate your plan.
You are a quick learner who recognizes patterns and processes and applies what you learn. Once you understand the family’s regular availability, preferred routines, or household standards, you are ready to hit the ground running without repetitive instructions.
You are an open, proactive communicator who is equally comfortable coordinating with both parents. You raise concerns promptly, share useful updates, and ask thoughtful questions when necessary. At the same time, you are independent and do not require constant interaction or reassurance. During quieter moments, you can identify a productive task, plan ahead, or work comfortably on your own.
You are calm, trustworthy, flexible, and a confident balancing household manager. You can shift from coordinating a vendor or organizing a pantry to transporting children, caring for pets, or handling an unexpected need. You bring common sense, professionalism, warmth, and a genuine desire to make daily life easier for the household.
