About this role

Manager, Events & Operations

About Praxis

Praxis began in 2011 with a desire to support and equip Christian entrepreneurs and has grown steadily into a 35+ global team, headquartered in NYC, advancing the redemptive quests of founders, funders, and innovators motivated by their faith to address the major issues of our time. As a $15M+/year nonprofit with ambitious growth plans, we’re expanding our venture-building work globally, organizing around the major issues of our time, and building media and more to activate the redemptive potential of Christians around the world. We see our team as the first carriers of the mission, building an organization that is great to work at, excellent in its craft, and redemptive in its finances as well as its programs.

The Role

Loom from Direct Supervisor

At Praxis, we believe gathering people well is an act of service. Praxis gathers a global community of redemptive entrepreneurs, investors, and leaders through a portfolio of events — Redemptive Imagination Summit , Accelerator gatherings, ORI Forums , Global Regional Gatherings , and more. Every detail, from the first invitation to the final debrief, is a chance to extend hospitality and make room for the people we serve to do their best work.

This role reports to the Director, Events & Community. The Manager, Events and Operations helps Praxis translate program vision into excellent, hospitable, and operationally sound experiences. The Manager holds two things at once. First, they own a portfolio of events as the event lead, serving as the Program team's primary operational partner from discovery through debrief. Second, partnering closely with the Director to keep the full events portfolio moving with clarity, foresight, and consistent planning practices.

Maintain a rolling 18-month calendar view while aligning milestone decisions, location sourcing, and delivery schedules across the portfolio. You will support event leads in establishing structured, reliable execution boards, while partnering alongside the Director and Systems Manager to advance our Event Operating System—guiding product feature roadmaps, the live attendee mobile app, team workflow tools, and centralizing organizational knowledge in Notion.

This role is for someone who enjoys moving between hands-on event leadership and big-picture portfolio coordination. One day you're executing logistics and designing thoughtful attendee experiences. The next you're stepping back with the Director to align timelines, staffing, and priorities across the full calendar. Above all, we're looking for a strong events operator: someone who runs a tight plan so that everyone in the room can simply feel welcomed.

Key Areas of Responsibility

Event Operations Lead (50%)

Event Portfolio: US Business, US Non-Profit, APAC, and Africa Accelerator Events

- Partner around program vision and experience. Work with each program team to shape the event experience design and agenda. Join key program-content design meetings and working groups, bringing an operator's perspective to what the program hopes to create.

- Turn program decisions into next steps. Translate decisions into assigned work. Keep Asana, Notion, and other event systems current.

- Set up the planning process. Launch the Asana project, Notion Execution Guide, and planning calendar. Schedule kickoffs, working groups, milestone reviews, table reads, and action plan reads.

- Make sure the work is covered for assigned events. Ensure every event function has a named owner and clear responsibilities. Bring staffing needs, timing conflicts, and recommended adjustments to the Director.

- Keep the master agenda aligned. Maintain an accurate agenda in Airtable. Carry changes into assignments, communications, production, and vendor plans.

- Support teammates in their functions. Help each Events team member see how their work fits the full event. Review plans against the master agenda and flag gaps early.

- Care for invitations and attendee communications. Draft copy and activate MixMax. Build registration pages and RSVP tracking, keeping attendee data accurate.

- Coordinate assigned event functions. Guide print production, venue management, vendors, supplies and inventory, rentals, decor, transportation, F&B, and AVL production.

- Coordinate decks, scripts, and event systems. Lead the deck management process and assign script and deck content tasks. Set up event resources in Notion.

- Keep shared planning resources useful. Maintain project timelines, supply lists, and action plans.

- Prepare the team for onsite execution. Build function plans into the Host Team Action Plan and check workloads. Lead operational reads and coordinate training.

- Help recruit, train, and manage seasonal the onsite Host Team (event support). Lead the onsite Host Team. Guide the team with clarity, warmth, and attention to detail.

- Learn together and improve. Gather feedback with Program and Community and lead the operational debrief. Update the Event Playbook, Execution Guide, and Asana template.

- Apprentice the Summit Executive Producer and function as an Assistant Producer

- Support other events in our portfolio as assigned to specific support functions.

Events Capability Project Manager (30%)

Praxis hosts approximately 40 events each year, spanning a range of sizes and complexity. As an integrator alongside the Director, you'll help set the pace for planning and project development across the portfolio.

- Hold the portfolio calendar. Maintain a single view of where every event sits in the planning framework. Flag events drifting behind their planning stage early.

- Coordinating venue research projects to secure locations up to two years in advance.

- Help the team launch event projects. Schedule and help run kickoff calls. Confirm the Asana project board is built with assigned function owners.

- Plan 18 months out. Maintain a rolling 18-month view of the event calendar with the Director. Surface staffing pressure and overlapping build periods while there is time to adjust.

- Hold the quality bar on Asana. Audit event boards against Events Capability best practices and the organizing model. Check structure, assignments, dates, dependencies, and anything missing.

- Enable other Event Team Leads. Be the first stop for questions about how something should be set up. Offer templates and working sessions rather than corrections after the fact.

- Log what keeps coming up. Keep a running record of recurring gaps and friction points across events. Bring patterns to the Director as candidates for the capability roadmap.

- Support team administration. Help maintain meeting frequencies, rhythms, and agendas for the Events team.

Event Operating Systems & Knowledge Infrastructure (20%)

- Help project manage the operating system roadmap.

- Assist with other event systems like attendee in-take forms and registration pages.

- Keep Airtable clean. Maintain data accuracy and consistency across event records.

- Support testing and adoption of EventOS. Coordinate testing across events and program teams, and gather feedback from live events.

- Build out the Notion teamspace. Ensure the Events Capability Teamspace is actively developed and current. Cover playbooks and SOPs for major functions like Vendor Management, Venue Research & Sourcing, etc.

- Create uniformity across function documentation. Partner with events’ team specialist leaders to capture their process. Hold a consistent structure and naming convention so every function hub is built the same way.

Who You Are

This role is for someone energized by the health of a system, not only the success of a single event. You read a project board and immediately see what's missing. You'd rather build the template than repeat the work. And you take quiet pride in a team that arrives onsite already knowing what to do.

Above all, you're a team player. You genuinely love supporting other people's work and find real satisfaction in making a teammate's job easier. You lead as an enabler, offering help before it's asked for and measuring your success by how well the people around you are set up to succeed. You believe that the care behind the scenes is what makes hospitality possible in the room.

Expected Competencies

- 4+ years in event design and operations, production, or project management, including ownership of multi-day events for 100+ attendees.

- Demonstrated fluency with project management tooling — Asana strongly preferred — including building and maintaining templates, not just working inside them.

- Demonstrated fluency with Notion, Airtable, or comparable systems, with an instinct for structure and naming that holds up as things scale.

- Comfort holding long horizons: the ability to work an 18-month calendar and a same-week deadline without losing either.

- Strong oral and written communication, especially in attendee-facing copy and internal documentation.

- Willingness to travel and to work the hours an event requires while it is live.

- Alignment with Praxis's mission and a genuine interest in serving redemptive entrepreneurs and the community we gather.

Cultural Alignment

Praxis finds its theological identity most clearly stated in the Lausanne Covenant (1974) and the Cape Town Commitment (2010) . All Praxis staff and program participants are asked to affirm The Apostles’ Creed as a statement of their own beliefs. The ideal candidate will demonstrate alignment with the above, as well as our mission to advance redemptive entrepreneurship. We're seeking a leader who combines operational excellence with a spirit of humility and service, contributing to our vision of building an organization that embodies redemptive principles in all aspects of its work and culture, which includes shared rhythms such as daily team prayer and a company-wide weekly Sabbath, as detailed in our Rule of Life for Redemptive Entrepreneurs (rule.praxislabs.org).
