As an Air Logistics Import Hub Operational Care Specialist, you will help coordinate air freight shipments from booking through delivery while ensuring shipments move accurately, efficiently, and on time. This role combines operational coordination with customer and stakeholder communication, making it a strong fit for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, solving problems, and taking ownership of their work. This is a full-time, permanent, onsite position based in Torrance, California.

## How you create impact

You will manage day-to-day air logistics operations while working closely with internal teams, carriers, suppliers, and other partners to keep shipments moving and address issues as they arise.

- Coordinate air freight shipments, including bookings, documentation, routing, and shipment monitoring
- Monitor shipments throughout the transportation process and follow up on delays, exceptions, and other deviations
- Maintain accurate and timely shipment information within Kuehne+Nagel systems, including operational and financial data
- Communicate with Customer Care teams and other stakeholders to ensure customer requirements, transit times, routing, and carrier expectations are met
- Review shipment instructions and identify discrepancies involving routing, rates, regulatory requirements, or other operational details
- Work with carriers, suppliers, gateways, warehouse teams, customs teams, and third-party partners to resolve operational issues
- Escalate operational problems or service concerns when appropriate
- Monitor carrier and partner performance and raise concerns when service commitments are not being met
- Support cost optimization and efficient operational execution
- Identify opportunities to improve processes and increase the use of automated systems
- Partner with Sales and Customer Care teams to support new account implementation and smooth transitions into operations

- Experience in freight forwarding, logistics, transportation, or a related operational environment
- Air freight knowledge or experience strongly preferred
- Ability to coordinate multiple shipments, priorities, and deadlines at the same time
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to respond effectively when shipment issues occur
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to communicate and coordinate effectively with customers, suppliers, carriers, and internal teams
- Team-oriented approach with a strong sense of ownership and accountability
- Flexibility and the ability to work effectively under pressure
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements and industry guidelines related to air freight
- Strong time management and analytical skills
- English communication skills

Experience or education in freight forwarding or logistics is preferred.

This position has an hourly pay range of $29.00 to $33.00 per hour. Base pay is part of a competitive total rewards package that includes health and welfare benefits, a 401k retirement savings plan, tuition reimbursement, and incentive compensation for eligible roles.

Individual pay may vary within the range and is determined by a number of factors including experience, skills, job location, internal pay equity, and other relevant business considerations. Kuehne+Nagel reviews pay ranges regularly to ensure competitive and fair pay based on industry market data.
