Veterinary Purchasing Co. Ltd. (VP)   is the largest veterinary-owned distributor in Canada. Our primary purpose is to ensure that veterinarians have the supplies they need, when they need it, to provide healthcare to all types of animals. We are looking for new members to join our Operations team in the Replenishing Associate role . Be a part of the supply chain industry and join VP!

Replenishing Associate

Under the general direction of the Stock/Receiving Coordinator and the Receiving & Inventory Supervisor, the Replenishing Associate is responsible for the efficient movement of received goods to reserves and/or appropriate shelving locations. The candidate works closely with the Purchasing Team to ensure accurate inventory receipts. This role also plays a vital part in helping to maintain a clean, well-organized, and safe working environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

- Move goods from reserves to shelves as needed; following replenishment procedures

- Retrieve incoming shipment and packing slips

- Move goods to reserves or bin area

- Check for concealed damage and short expiry dates

- Confirm quantities received match packing slips

- Initial and date invoices or packing slips neatly

- Send paperwork to the Purchasing department

- Verifying dangerous goods are stocked and labelled properly

- Obtain approval from Stock/Replenishing Coordinator for assigned location of new products

- Pick and verify orders as needed.

- Other duties and projects as assigned.

- Create and apply lot labels on products

- Following FIFO/FEFO for proper stock rotation

- Operation of the dock plates

- Use of pallet trucks to move products out of the trucks and to the edge of the receiving dock
for stock personnel

- Accurately record the Company, Carrier Time, and Number of cartons both in the book and
on the board

- Deliver incoming packages to the appropriate personnel/department, as needed

- Look up and receive pet food from the appropriate PO

- Create Put Away tags for pet food receiving

- Open receiving doors

- Verify bills of lading

- Assist truckers in and out

Health & Safety:

- Works in compliance with the Occupational Health & Safety Act and follows VP’s policies and procedures

- Conducts self with regard for the safety of all employees

- Participates in health and safety training, meetings, and drills as required; is aware of safety and evacuation procedures

- Reports any health & safety violations or hazards to appropriate contacts (JHSC Representatives, Supervisors, Managers)

Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP):

- Follows and understands all relevant Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) with respect to Good Manufacturing Practices

Skills and Knowledge Required

- High school diploma, GED, or another recognized equivalent.

- Good written and verbal communication

- Ability to work with minimal supervision

- Ability to work independently or as part of a team

- Must be willing to obtain Electric Pallet Truck and Forklift license.

Schedule and Hours of Work

Sunday: 7:00am - EOD (end of day)

Monday, Thursday and Friday: 10:30am - EOD (end of day)

Location

This position is located at VP’s Head Office in St Marys (485 Queen St W, St. Marys, ON N4X 1B7).

Compensation

$20.50/hour base pay

NOTE: This role also qualifies for an annual performance bonus.

Hourly Premiums Available

Additional $0.50/hr upon Electric Pallet Truck certification

Additional $1.00/hr upon Forklift certification

Additional premium pay for hours worked on Sunday ( $2.00/hour ) and after 6pm ( $1.00/hr )
