About this role

Dentologie dental group (Chicago, IL) is seeking an experienced Human Resource Director to play a primary role in continuing to drive employee engagement and to ensure Dentologie has the right talent in place while maintaining and evolving our incredibly strong culture.  With accountability for all human resources, this individual will provide consultative HR support and counsel to office managers, define the human capital strategy, and determine how to best use the Dentologie talent-base to innovate and support business objectives.

Where will I be located?
The selected HR Director candidate would be seated in Chicago (HQ is in River North). This role requires being present in our dental clinics throughout the city approximately 60-70% of the week. Travel to Seattle (approximately two times a year) is also required.

You will report directly to our CEO.

Dentologie offers a competitive base salary, bonus, full benefit package, and an equity compensation package. We are happy to discuss specifics around compensation for this role with qualified candidates during the initial interview.

What will I do?
This individual is responsible for building and maintaining a high-performing workforce, developing and executing strategies that support the company’s business goals, provide day-to-day professional HR support and policy administration to all Dentologie clinics in the greater Chicago and Seattle areas, enhancing employee satisfaction and retention, and positioning Dentologie as an employer of choice. The HR Director will serve as a trusted advisor to and carry out responsibilities in the following functional areas: Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS), Employee Relations, Training and Development, Benefits, Compensation, New Hire Orientation, Performance and Talent Management.

Responsibilities include:

- Supports day-to-day employee relations, the application of employment laws, and  human resources.
- Own the performance management cycle, advise and coach in areas of goal setting, mid-year feedback activities, annual performance review and the compensation planning process.
- Own and refine employee compensation and benefits program(s) that support and reinforce Dentologie’s business goals.
- Work collaboratively and serve as a trusted advisor for all levels of leadership from CEO to clinical leads, with particular emphasis on clinic management and personnel
- Instill Dentologie culture and establish operational scalability across new locations to ensure that proper people policies, processes, tools, and systems are in place that solve current issues and prepare the company for future growth 
- To partner with leadership to develop employee recognition and reward programs that foster a positive and inclusive work environment.
- Conduct and refine all new hire orientations and onboarding for a seamless first day experience in partnership with clinical and HQ operations
- Manage leave of absence programs, workers compensation, maintain employee data in the HRIS and personnel files, prepare employee communications and documentation (including new hire, disability, benefit, and separation notices), and generates and analyzes reports on HR activity.
- Coordinates with the Payroll/Benefits Specialist on all benefit-related items, including open enrollment, tracking, updates, as well as pay changes and HRIS system changes
- Serves as a point of contact for internal and external HR inquiries and requests, providing support and liaising with other departments and functions as needed.
- Maage employment agreements and associated human resources documentation.
What are the qualifications needed?
 From a people leadership perspective this person will have:
- 7+ years Human Resource experience growing and managing multiple HR functions within a fast-paced and dynamic organization (compensation, benefits, L&D, onboarding, workplace, engagement, etc.)
- Prior experience with large, nonexempt workforces
- Passion for creating a positive employee experience and fostering a diverse and inclusive workplace culture.
- Strong understanding of HR practices, employment laws, and regulations in multiple markets
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with demonstrated ability to foster relationships built on trust.
- Prior experience in the medical or dental field preferred but not required.
