About this role

Crusoe is on a mission to accelerate the abundance of energy and intelligence . As the only vertically integrated AI infrastructure company built from the ground up, we own and operate each layer of the stack — from electrons to tokens — to power the world's most ambitious AI workloads. When you join Crusoe, you join a team that is building the future, faster.

We're in the midst of the greatest industrial revolution of our time. The demand for AI compute is boundless, and power is a bottleneck. We're solving that — with an energy-first approach that makes AI infrastructure better for the world and faster for the people innovating with AI.

We're looking for problem-solving, opportunity-finding teammates with a sense of urgency, who believe in the scale of our ambition and thrive on a path not fully paved — people who want to grow their careers alongside a team of experts across energy, manufacturing, data center construction, and cloud services.

If you want to do the most meaningful work of your career, help our customers and partners advance their AI strategies, and be part of a high-performing team that believes in each other, come build with us at Crusoe.

About This Role

Crusoe's Spark Business Unit is scaling deployment of the company's modular power and

compute infrastructure across multiple sites through 2030. This role sits within the Digital

Infrastructure Group's Engineering Design Management team and owns the mechanical,

thermal, and fluid architecture of the Spark Modular Data Center (MDC) platform. You'll sit at the

intersection of hardware, software, and physical infrastructure, translating next-generation GPU

compute workloads, cluster topologies, power envelopes, and cooling requirements into robust,

high-performance liquid-cooled MDC system designs. This is an in-office role, five days a week,

based out of one of Crusoe's office locations.

What You'll Be Working On

Design for mechanical systems and controls systems serving data center projects

Site layout and planning for small- to medium-scale data center projects

Own system-level design for direct-to-chip (DLC) and hydronic liquid cooling

infrastructure, including CDUs, primary/secondary loops, flow distribution

Own system-level design for air cooling infrastructure, including fan wall units, make up

air units, and humidification systems

Manage a team of external design partners to execute projects, and coordinate with

internal stakeholders

Drive the mechanical and thermal roadmap as Spark evolves from air-cooled baselines

to next-generation high-density liquid-cooled architectures

What You'll Bring to the Team

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field

5+ years of mechanical engineering experience with expertise in chilled water systems

and equipment, air cooling and HVAC.

Industrial or mission critical experience is required

Data Center experience is preferred, but not required

Direct experience designing chilled water systems, and specifying central equipment

(chillers, pumps, etc)

Proficiency with CAD tools (revit, navisworks, bluebeam)

Working knowledge of relevant mechanical codes and standards (ASME B31.x,

ASHRAE guidelines, NFPA standards)

Comfortable partnering across hardware, software, and infrastructure teams to translate

compute and power requirements into mechanical system designs

Bonus Points

Direct experience in modular building design design

Familiarity with BIM workflows and full-lifecycle drawing packages (30/60/90/100%)

Professional Engineer (PE) license
