Methodist Rehabilitation is seeking a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our outpatient therapy team.

As a PTA at MRC, you will work under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist to provide hands-on treatment and help patients improve their mobility, strength, function, and independence. This is an opportunity to be part of a collaborative rehabilitation team while making a meaningful difference in the lives of your patients.

What Youll Do

- Implement physical therapy treatment programs under the direction and supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist.

- Provide appropriate therapeutic interventions and treatment techniques based on the patient's individualized plan of care.

- Assist patients in working toward their physical therapy goals and improving mobility, strength, balance, function, and independence.

- Adapt and modify treatment approaches as appropriate to meet individual patient needs in consultation with the supervising PT.

- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient treatments, progress, and treatment units according to department and hospital standards.

- Communicate effectively with the supervising Physical Therapist and other members of the healthcare team regarding patient progress and treatment needs.

- Participate in team meetings and communicate relevant patient information as needed.

- Identify challenges during treatment and work with the supervising PT to develop appropriate solutions.

- Maintain professional working relationships with patients, families, coworkers, and other members of the rehabilitation team.

- Support departmental activities and perform other duties as assigned.

- May provide supervision or guidance to PTA students.

Qualifications

What Were Looking For

- Associate of Applied Science degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.

- Current, valid Mississippi Physical Therapist Assistant license or eligibility for licensure.

- Ability to work under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist.

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

- Professional, dependable, and team-oriented approach.

- Ability to provide compassionate, patient-centered care.

- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

- Previous experience is not required. New graduates are welcome to apply!
