Job Information

We are seeking the services of an electrical engineer. The primary focus of this assignment will be managing critical facility related electrical projects and equipment. As part of this assignment the incumbent will be required to work with cross-functional teams comprised of electrical & mechanical engineers, hourly associates and various members of discipline leads.

Role & Responsibility

- Responsible for the planning, design, reconfiguration, construction, maintenance and/or alteration of equipment, machinery, buildings, structures and other facilities projects, including periodically managing projects with significant scope and complexity.

- Provide day-to-day guidance to staff electricians on troubleshooting, electrical code interpretation and implementation of safe electrical design implementations.

- Review current ARC Flash requirements, recommend corrections and support implementation of changes to current applications.

- Update electrical baseline drawings of buildings and equipment.

- Provide training of applicable electrical codes (NFPA, NEC, ARC Flash, etc.) as requested and agreed upon by Facility Management.

- Provide day-to-day guidance to staff electrician on troubleshooting, design, and implementation of PLCs used in building safety/control systems.

- Guidance to staff electricians on safe electrical work practices, troubleshooting and repair.

- Provide technical electrical support to users as requested.

- Provide PLC support to users as required (Allen Bradley preferred).

- Support corrections with current Safe Electrical Work Practice polices/procedures.

- Create detailed proposals outlining required electrical work to include: parts listing, labor hour estimates, contractor support for project costing.

- Support critical electrical machine repairs for production equipment.

- Maintain electrical drawings for facility owned projects and equipment.

- Provide electrical based knowledge training of applicable state/federal codes.

- Ensure electrical work is performed in a safe manner (Job Safety Analysis, FHRA’s).

- Support safety ‘Readiness Reviews’ as required.

Job Requirement

Education & Experience:

- BA/BS degree with 2-5+ years of experience.

- MA/MS with 0-2+ years of experience.

- Trades training and certifications a plus.

- Work with 3rd party contractors to assure work is performed in accord with HyAxiom standards.

- Experience working with and leading multiple technical trades projects and tasks including mechanical, electrical and calibration.

- Demonstrated experience in a manufacturing environment focused on continuous improvement and changing priorities.

- Coaching and development of others.

Knowledge & Skill:

- Accountable for simple and more involved projects with significant scope and complexity.

- Direction of others in the functional group.

- Strong mechanical/electrical/maintenance knowledge of controls, processes and equipment used to support and deliver facilities business needs.

- Knowledge of waste handling and spill response.

- Ability to balance multiple projects with varying degrees of complexity and priority.

- Project management experience.

- Hands-on mechanical aptitude.
