Sr. Software Engineer, Robotaxi & Optimus

Robotaxi is now operating commercially and the systems behind it have to grow with our ambitious plans. Join a small team of experts building and scaling the server-side platform that powers Robotaxi and Optimus: the connectivity, customer control, orchestration, and operation services behind millions of vehicles and robots.

You will design, ship, and operate core services in production alongside world-class engineers. The role is hands-on and has direct impact on the Tesla product roadmap and mission.

We are hiring at the Software Engineer and Senior Software Engineer levels.

- Design, build, and operate scalable, highly available, mission-critical services and APIs

- Own features end to end, from design through production rollout and support

- Build on distributed, asynchronous messaging at fleet scale

- Write secure, performant, well-tested code and review the work of others

- Partner with Product, SRE, and Infrastructure to deliver on the roadmap

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience

- 3+ years building backend services, preferably in a service-oriented architecture

- Strong programming skills in a modern backend language, Go preferred

- Experience with distributed systems, web services, or messaging systems

- Clear communication of technical concepts to a wide audience

- Experience with web security is a plus

Expected Compensation $140,000 - $312,000/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits
Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
