Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university preferred; equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience will be considered.
- Five or more years of experience in corporate risk management, insurance administration, or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of property and casualty insurance programs and claims management.
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
- Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
Insurance Program Management
- Lead the procurement, negotiation, and administration of Healthcare Realty's property and casualty, captive, and management liability insurance programs.
- Monitor market trends and recommend strategies to optimize coverage, manage costs, and mitigate organizational risk.
Claims Oversight
- Manage and oversee property and casualty claims, working closely with internal stakeholders, insurance carriers, and third-party administrators.
- Ensure claims are handled efficiently and effectively while minimizing financial and operational impact.
Contract and Lease Review
- Review leases, vendor agreements, and other contracts to evaluate insurance requirements, indemnification provisions, and risk transfer mechanisms.
- Interpret certificate of insurance requirements and ensure compliance with company standards.
Regulatory Compliance
- Maintain OSHA recordkeeping and reporting requirements.
- Support compliance initiatives related to risk management and workplace safety.
Relationship Management
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal teams, including Asset Management, Legal, and executive leadership, as well as brokers, underwriters, carriers, and third-party administrators.
- Serve as a trusted advisor on insurance-related matters across the organization.
Strategic Communication
- Provide regular updates and insights to executive leadership regarding insurance market conditions, claims trends, risk exposures, and program performance.
- Develop clear, data-driven recommendations to support business decision-making.
Risk Management Leadership
- Manage competing priorities and respond effectively to emerging risks and unexpected events.
- Continuously evaluate and enhance risk management practices to support Healthcare Realty's long-term business objectives.
