Overall Job Summary
This role is responsible for developing and executing Tractor Supply’s Investor Relations strategy and strengthening relationships with the investment community. The Director serves as a key partner to executive leadership and cross-functional business leaders, translating the Company’s business strategy, financial performance, and key initiatives into clear, consistent and credible communications for investors and analysts.
The Director leads day-to-day Investor Relations activities, manages relationships with the investment community, supports executive communications and investor events, and helps ensure timely, accurate and effective communication of information to external stakeholders. The role requires strong business and financial acumen, sound judgment, discretion, and the ability to operate effectively in a highly visible, fast-paced environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Min 5%)
- Develop and execute Tractor Supply’s overarching Investor Relations strategy in alignment with the Company’s business and financial objectives.
- Serve as a primary point of contact and relationship leader for members of the investment community, including institutional investors and financial analysts.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with investors and analysts through ongoing communication, meetings, conferences, presentations and other engagement opportunities.
- Partner closely with executive leaders and Finance to prepare and deliver investor communications that clearly articulate the Company’s strategy, business performance and financial outlook.
- Lead preparation for investor communications and events, including presentations, talking points, scripts, Q&As, briefing materials and other executive communications.
- Develop and maintain a strong understanding of the investment community, including investor perspectives, analyst expectations, market feedback and emerging areas of interest.
- Oversee Investor Relations information flow and CRM activity, ensuring accurate and timely tracking of investor and analyst interactions, meetings and relationship history.
- Monitor and synthesize investor and analyst feedback and provide insights to executive leadership and relevant business partners.
- Partner across Finance, Legal, Communications and other business functions to ensure consistency, clarity and credibility of the Company’s external business and financial narrative.
- Support the Company’s external corporate storytelling by connecting business, financial and strategic priorities into clear and compelling communications for investors and other key stakeholders.
- Develop and execute communications related to significant Company initiatives, issues and events, exercising sound judgment regarding messaging, timing, audience and external impact.
- Coordinate and lead investor conferences, meetings, presentations and other investment-community engagement activities.
- Support executive leaders in preparing for investor and analyst interactions, providing guidance on messaging, anticipated questions and effective communication.
- Analyze investor and market information and provide recommendations that enhance the effectiveness of the Company’s Investor Relations strategy.
- Collaborate with Public Relations and other Corporate Communications partners to ensure continuity between the Company’s investor, financial and broader corporate narrative.
- Represent Tractor Supply with professionalism, credibility and discretion when interacting with investors, analysts and other external stakeholders.
- Lead special projects and other strategic initiatives within Investor & Public Relations as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Experience : 8+ years’ experience in Investor Relations, Corporate Communications, Finance, Public Relations, or a related field, with demonstrated experience supporting senior executives and external stakeholders. Experience in a large, publicly traded company is strongly preferred.
Education: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university in Finance, Business, Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing or a related field. Any suitable combination of education and experience will be considered.

- Strong business and financial acumen with the ability to understand and communicate complex financial and business information.
- Demonstrated experience developing and executing an Investor Relations or corporate communications strategy.
- Strong understanding of investor and analyst engagement and external stakeholder management.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Strong executive presence and the ability to effectively communicate with senior leaders, investors, analysts and other external stakeholders.
- Exceptional judgment and discretion when handling confidential, sensitive and non-routine information.
- Strong ability to simplify complex data, financial information and business strategies into clear, compelling messaging.
- Highly collaborative, with the ability to build strong relationships across a complex, matrixed organization.
- Strong project management, organization and prioritization skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Resourceful, proactive and results-oriented, with the ability to work effectively under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to synthesize information and translate insights into recommendations.
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite and relevant investor relations/CRM systems.
- Ability to represent Tractor Supply professionally and credibly with external stakeholders.
