As part of the Metering team, the Team Leader will provide leadership, technical guidance, and operational oversight to ensure the safe, reliable, and efficient delivery of metering services. In this role, you will coach and develop team members, drive performance improvements, and support the implementation of metering standards, technologies, and best practices.

Key Responsibilities:

- Lead, coach, mentor, and develop team members through daily guidance, technical support, and hands-on training.
- Direct, monitor, and evaluate the performance of direct reports, ensuring accountability and alignment with operational goals.
- Oversee the continuous, safe, and efficient operation of metering services.
- Train employees to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve meter malfunctions and communication errors in single-phase and three-phase meters.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of electric metering systems, technologies, and equipment.
- Collaborate effectively with internal teams to ensure operational expectations and business objectives are met.
- Partner with the Metering Management team to support Operations & Maintenance (O&M) and capital budgeting activities.
- Develop, implement, and maintain metering standards, work practices, and operational procedures.
- Support software product specifications, development, testing, implementation, and employee training.
- Provide train-the-trainer support to help employees effectively use their field devices.
- Actively participate in metering training sessions, operational discussions, and safety meetings.
- Develop and implement annual improvement plans to enhance field employee performance, operational efficiency, and overall effectiveness.
- Conduct field evaluations and competency assessments to verify that technicians can safely and effectively perform metering-related tasks.
- Monitor and document field employee performance and work practices, provide constructive feedback and coaching, recommend corrective actions when needed, and recognize strong performance.
- Promote a strong safety culture by ensuring new and existing employees receive appropriate safety training and consistently follow established safety standards.
- Develop, deliver, and continuously improve technical training programs, including training manuals, instructional guides, visual aids, and evaluation materials tailored to metering technologies such as Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) and smart meters.

Education & Experience

- High school diploma required; Associate degree or completion of a structured Journeyman Meter Technician apprenticeship.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in electric utility metering operations.
- Minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience.
- Strong technical knowledge and expertise developed through advanced formal education, relevant professional experience, or an equivalent combination of both.
- Experience with metering operations, installations, and related field activities.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and leadership capabilities.
- Experience using various computer applications, with the ability to quickly learn new systems and technologies.

- Proven ability to develop, motivate, and support employees while addressing and resolving conflicts diplomatically.
- Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Ability to work in both field and office environments, including outdoor work in varying weather conditions.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization.
- Proficiency in general computer operations and Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong planning skills, with the ability to anticipate and manage both short- and long-term priorities.
- Ability to analyze data, evaluate operational needs, and make sound business decisions.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain and teach complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.

Work Schedule

This is an on-site position, Monday through Friday, from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM.
