POSITION SUMMARY
Reporting to the Quality Manager the CMM Operator & Programmer is responsible for dimensional inspection, CMM programming and operation, material quality verification, and supporting the company’s quality management system. The ideal candidate will have ability to perform advanced CMM programming, GD&T, precision measurement, calibration systems, and manufacturing quality requirements.
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
- Program, operate, and optimize Hexagon coordinate measuring machines (CMMs) to deliver precise, reliable dimensional inspections.
- Translate engineering drawings, CAD models, and GD&T requirements into accurate CMM programs, troubleshooting and refining them for peak performance.
- Lead first-piece, in-process, final, and PPAP inspections using CMMs and precision measurement tools to ensure materials and products meet specifications.
- Turn inspection data into action by analyzing CMM reports, identifying trends, and communicating quality concerns to Quality, Engineering, and Production teams.
- Keep measurement systems audit-ready by managing calibration schedules, records, certificates, equipment status, and out-of-calibration investigations.
- Champion continuous improvement by supporting Gauge R&R/MSA, capability studies, audits, corrective actions, non-conformance activities, product traceability, and cross-functional problem-solving.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
- 3–5 years of manufacturing quality experience preferred.
- 2-3 years of hands-on experience operating and programming CMMs is required.
- Experience with Hexagon CMM and PC-DMIS measurement software preferred.
- Strong knowledge of GD&T, engineering drawings, and dimensional inspection.
- Experience with Gauge R&R / MSA, process capability, and calibration systems.
- Knowledge of gauges, fixtures, and measurement equipment calibration.
- Familiarity with QMS and manufacturing quality processes.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and attention-to-detail skills.
- Able to work independently and effectively in a team environment.
- Education in mechanical, manufacturing, or quality engineering, or an equivalent field, is an asset.
- Automotive or precision manufacturing experience preferred.
- Authorization to work in Canada without sponsorship is required.
COMPENSATION
$30-$37 per hour based on experience. Eligible for overtime (as applicable).
WORK SCHEDULE AND LOCATION
This is a day-shift position scheduled for 40 hours per week; overtime may be required.
