- ### Bed Control Specialist - Full Time - Days

The Environmental Services Bed Control Liaison serves as the connection between the Command Center, Bed Control team, and Environmental Services staff to ensure patient rooms are cleaned and available as quickly as possible. This role helps coordinate room turnover, bed assignments, and patient placement while maintaining high levels of customer service, communication, and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

- Coordinate EVS staff assignments to prioritize rooms that need immediate turnover.
- Partner with Command Center and Bed Control teams to support timely patient admissions, transfers, and bed placement.
- Monitor and expedite availability of STAT, assigned, and critical care beds.
- Track and manage discharged room turnover to minimize delays.
- Support department performance improvement initiatives and quality measures.
- Provide excellent customer service, service recovery, and patient satisfaction support.
- Ensure proper use of equipment and compliance with HIPAA and Wellstar policies.
- Use Epic, Microsoft Word, and Excel for monitoring, reporting, and communication.
- Multitask effectively while managing phone communications and computer-based workflows.

Minimum Qualifications

Required

- High School Diploma or GED
- 3+ years of work experience
- Strong computer, telephone, multitasking, and customer service skills

Preferred

- Associate degree in a related field
- Healthcare or hospitality experience
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Experience using Epic
