Position Overview
Nissan of Vacaville is seeking a motivated, professional, and customer-focused Automotive Service Advisor to join our Service Department.
The Service Advisor is the primary point of contact between our customers and the service department. This position is responsible for providing an excellent customer experience while accurately identifying customer concerns, recommending needed maintenance and repairs, communicating repair progress, and helping ensure vehicles are completed correctly and on time.
We are looking for someone who is competitive, organized, dependable, comfortable in a fast-paced dealership environment, and committed to building long-term relationships with our customers.
Responsibilities
- Greet service customers promptly and professionally.
- Listen to customers and accurately document vehicle concerns.
- Prepare complete and accurate repair orders.
- Review vehicle history and recommend factory-scheduled maintenance.
- Educate customers on recommended maintenance and repair needs.
- Present technician inspection findings and repair recommendations clearly and professionally.
- Obtain customer authorization before completing additional repairs.
- Maintain consistent communication with customers throughout the repair process.
- Provide customers with accurate estimates and expected completion times.
- Work closely with technicians, parts personnel, dispatch, and management to keep repairs moving efficiently.
- Review completed repair orders for accuracy before customer delivery.
- Explain completed repairs, maintenance performed, warranties, and charges to customers.
- Follow up with customers when appropriate to ensure satisfaction.
- Schedule future maintenance and service appointments.
- Maintain CSI/customer satisfaction standards.
- Assist in achieving departmental sales, gross profit, retention, and productivity goals.
- Maintain accurate customer information and documentation in dealership systems.
- Handle customer concerns professionally and involve management when necessary.
- Follow Nissan policies, dealership procedures, and all applicable safety requirements.
Qualifications
- Automotive Service Advisor experience preferred.
- Nissan dealership experience is a plus but not required.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to confidently explain automotive maintenance and repairs.
- Strong sales and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to manage multiple customers and repair orders at the same time.
- Excellent organization and follow-through.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic computer and dealership management system skills.
- Professional appearance and attitude.
- Reliable attendance and punctuality.
- Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
Preferred Experience
Experience with any of the following is beneficial:
- Nissan dealership service operations
- Dealer Management Systems (DMS)
- Xtime or similar service scheduling/communication systems
- Multipoint vehicle inspections
- Factory maintenance schedules
- Warranty and customer-pay repair orders
- Service menu presentations
- Customer retention and follow-up

Schedule
Full-time position. Availability may be required for Saturdays and other dealership operating hours based on the Service Department schedule.
Compensation
Competitive compensation based on experience and performance. Compensation structure may include hourly/base wages and performance-based incentives or commissions in accordance with dealership policy and applicable California law.
