About this role

Job Summary

This is a front desk position that supports program operations at Marshall St Landing (MSL). Marshall St Landing is a Permanent Supportive Housing (PSH) program located in Arvada, CO that opened in October 2025. Residents at MSL have experienced homelessness, have a disabling condition, and make under 30% of the area median income. PSH programs are designed to support individuals with case management support, life skill development, opportunities for community engagement, and other supportive services to increase client housing stability.

The Housing Assistant is responsible for maintaining a welcoming, safe, and supportive environment for clients while assisting with the front desk, daily living needs, client engagement, programming, and connections to community resources. This is a client-facing role that includes responding to client needs, assisting clients with problem-solving and skill development, and facilitating connections to appropriate community resources and Family Tree services. Housing Assistants will assist with facilitation of life skills events and activities and support volunteers and community partners who are visiting the building. Housing Assistants will complete administrative tasks and complete daily documentation including daily shift reports and communicate collaboratively with the Marshall St Landing team to support program operations.

Schedule:

We are hiring two part-time (20 hours/week) positions. The schedules are:

- Sunday-Wednesday: 5pm-10pm

- Wednesday-Saturday: 5pm-10pm

Example Activities:

- Working at the front desk- greeting residents, checking in visitors, answering phones, and responding to client needs

- Providing resources to residents such as food and hygiene items

- Completing administrative tasks and documentation, including daily shift reports, client notes, entering request for assistance forms, maintaining client files

- Helping to maintain a clean and safe work environment by organizing donations, activity supplies, and items at the front desk

- Assisting clients with tasks like making appointments, scheduling transportation,

- Supporting special events, client activities, and community-building efforts in the building

Qualifications

Required Skills/Competencies:

- Initiative – Able to work in a self-directed manner while also communicating well within a team; able to perform tasks with strong attention to detail, critical thinking, and excellent organizational skills.

- Relationship Management – Experience working with under-resourced, at-risk families and individuals coming from a combination of lived experience and/or professional/educational experience working with vulnerable individuals/families.

- Flexibility and Adaptability – Open to learning and able to learn quickly; navigate change well.

- Strengths-Based Approaches – Ability to practice trauma informed care, which includes being culturally appropriate, strengths-based, and providing individualized case management; able to apply a 2-Gen or multi-generational model while working with households/families.

- Teamwork and Collaboration – Committed to and skilled at building and maintaining relationships; able to work effectively with various individuals, organizations, and team members.

Preferred Competencies:

- Resourcefulness – Knowledge of and ability to navigate Metro Denver area community resources; an understanding of homelessness and housing.

- Digital Literacy – Strong knowledge of Microsoft Suite and HMIS.

- Crisis Management - Skilled in de-escalation, crisis response, and maintaining safety.

- Professionalism - Ability to maintain professional boundaries with clients while fostering respectful and supportive relationships.
