About this role

As an OBD & Emissions Core Ford Champ, you will play a key role in the Powertrain Calibration and Validation (VPSE) organization, focusing on the development of digital tools, connector databases, and the automation of sensor diagrams for Design Verification (DV) and OBD & Emissions calibration workflows. Working closely with Product Development, Calibration, and Test engineers, you will gain hands-on exposure to engine management, exhaust after-treatment diagnostics, and validation methodologies while driving process efficiency through automation and standardized technical data.

What you´ll need:

- Active student from any of the last 2 semesters of Mechatronics, Electrical, Electronics, Automotive, Mechanical, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering , or related engineering degree.

- 90% English skills (Oral, reading, writing, and listening – comfortable communicating in international technical environments).

- Strong analytical and communication skills , with high initiative, self-learning capability, and enthusiasm for powertrain systems and vehicle diagnostics.

Technical Skills (Mandatory):

- Proficiency in MATLAB® programming: Experience with scripting, data handling, file I/O, and tool/GUI development.

- Microsoft Visio skills or Visio API: Experience with VBA macros, stencil automation, or automated diagram drawing.

- Python programming: Proficiency in scripting, data manipulation (e.g., pandas), and automation scripts.

- Foundational understanding of electrical circuits and sensors: Ability to interpret wiring schematics, connector pinouts, and basic sensor signals.

Technical Skills (Desirable):

- Database Management & SQL: Knowledge of relational databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, SQLite) and query construction.

- Powertrain & OBD Fundamentals: Basic exposure or interest in internal combustion engines, emissions control systems, and On-Board Diagnostics (OBD-II).

- Automotive Calibration & Diagnostic Tools: Familiarity or exposure to calibration and acquisition environments (such as ETAS INCA, CANape , ATI Vision) and vehicle network protocols (CAN / LIN).

- Automotive Harness & Connectivity: Basic understanding of automotive electrical wiring harness architecture and physical connectors.

- Version Control: Familiarity with Git / GitHub for code and documentation versioning.
