Job Description
The Technical Solutions Consultant serves as the primary technical advisor for clients leveraging Visa Clearing Services and Cybersource Acceptance Solutions. Acting as a trusted partner to clients and internal stakeholders, this role is responsible for guiding customers through the end-to-end acquiring payment lifecycle while ensuring successful solution delivery, operational excellence, and long-term service optimization.

Combining implementation expertise, technical consulting, stakeholder coordination, and operational support, the Consultant works closely with clients, strategic service delivery partners, and cross-functional teams to support acquiring-related initiatives across transaction authorization, clearing, settlement, reconciliation, dispute processing, exception management, and operational incident resolution.

The Consultant plays a key role throughout the customer lifecycle, supporting solution onboarding, implementation activities, production readiness, and ongoing operational performance. This includes translating business requirements into technical solutions, coordinating complex initiatives across multiple stakeholders, and ensuring customer requirements are accurately reflected in solution designs, technical documentation, and implementation plans.

Working in partnership with Product, Operations, Technology, Risk, Finance, Network, Account Management, and external service providers, the Consultant drives issue resolution, facilitates technical discussions, manages escalations, and helps ensure that services operate reliably and meet both customer and business expectations.

The ideal candidate combines strong technical acumen, payment industry expertise, and exceptional stakeholder management skills, with the ability to serve as a trusted advisor while supporting clients across implementation, production support, operational governance, and continuous service improvement.

Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary technical advisor for assigned clients, building trusted relationships with business and technical stakeholders.
- Support the implementation, onboarding, and ongoing optimization of Visa Clearing Services and Cybersource Acceptance Solutions.
- Act as the primary technical liaison between clients, internal teams, and strategic service delivery partners.
- Translate business requirements into technical solutions and support solution design, testing, certification, and production readiness activities.
- Review and contribute to solution designs, technical architecture documents, implementation plans, and project deliverables.
- Coordinate technical discussions, stakeholder communications, and cross-functional activities throughout the customer lifecycle.
- Monitor production environments, transaction flows, and operational performance to identify risks, issues, and improvement opportunities.
- Lead the investigation, coordination, escalation, and resolution of technical and operational issues impacting customer services.
- Ensure incidents, service requests, and partner-managed activities are tracked through timely resolution and communicated effectively to stakeholders.
- Provide expertise across the acquiring payment lifecycle, including authorization, clearing, settlement, reconciliation, dispute processing, reversals, and exception management.
- Analyze transaction flows, payment messages, clearing records, settlement reports, and reconciliation outputs to identify root causes and operational impacts.
- Apply knowledge of ISO 8583 transaction messaging and payment processing workflows to support troubleshooting, operational analysis, and service optimization.
- Provide technical consulting on integrations, APIs, payment security requirements, and industry best practices.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, operational procedures, customer communications, and knowledge-sharing materials.
- Identify opportunities to improve customer outcomes, operational efficiency, service reliability, and overall client experience.
Qualifications
- 4+ years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor's Degree or 2+ years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g., Master's, MBA, or equivalent).
- Experience in payments, acquiring, payment processing, fintech, gateways, processors, or related industries.
- Experience in customer-facing technical consulting, implementation, production support, technical account management, or solution delivery roles.
- Strong understanding of payment ecosystems and the end-to-end transaction lifecycle, including authorization, clearing, settlement, reconciliation, chargebacks, disputes, and exception handling.
- Hands-on experience supporting acquiring operations, payment processing environments, or related transaction processing platforms.
- Knowledge of payment network protocols, industry standards, and clearing and settlement processes across card payment ecosystems.
- Experience analyzing and troubleshooting transaction flows, payment messages, clearing records, settlement reports, and reconciliation discrepancies.
- Strong understanding of ISO 8583 transaction messaging and familiarity with Base II or similar clearing and settlement file formats.
- Experience supporting API integrations and web-based applications, including REST, JSON, SOAP, and XML technologies.
- Familiarity with PCI DSS and payment security concepts, including authentication, encryption, and secure transaction processing.
- Experience with transaction monitoring, operational support, incident management, and root cause analysis in production environments.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and customer engagements simultaneously.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and relationship-building skills, with the ability to effectively engage both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Experience with monitoring, observability, or data analysis tools such as Splunk, Grafana, Kibana, or similar platforms is preferred.
- Fluency in English and Portuguese. Spanish is a plus.
