About this role

As the Food and Beverage Supervisor for Belmond Safaris you will lead our front-of-house dining and bar operations. In this role, you will ensure that every guest enjoys exceptional culinary and beverage experiences.

Primary Responsibilities Include

- Oversee all F&B service areas, including the main dining room, bar, boma and private bush dining setups.
- Coordinate seamlessly with the Head Chef and kitchen team to ensure smooth service delivery and timing.
- Create fair staff rosters, manage shift handovers, and maintain high standards of grooming and professional etiquette.
- Monitor stock levels for operating equipment, bar inventory, and consumables, conducting regular stock takes and managing wastage.
- Supervise, train, and mentor the front-of-house service and bar staff, fostering a culture of teamwork, pride, and continuous improvement
- Ensure compliance with strict health, hygiene, safety, and sanitation standards across all F&B areas.
- Take guest orders in timely and personable way and ensure proper execution of the same.
- Storytelling to be part of all interactions with our guests
- Ensure you are knowledgeable regarding all aspects of the beverage list that you are serving and to be able to make recommendations to guests.
- Support the team in presenting the recommended dinner wines every evening in a genuine and knowledgeable manner
- Set up the bar area in accordance to Belmond and LQA standards
- Participate in any sundowner and morning special events and provide a genuine, unique and memorable experience for all guests as and when required
- Support in the creation and preparation of all welcome drinks for our guests
- Support in reviewing and updating the cocktail menus as and when required

Requirements

- Minimum 2–3 years of F&B supervisory experience in a hotel or lodge. (safari lodge experience is a strong advantage).
- Excellent wine and beverage knowledge, strong organizational skills, and a natural flair for hospitality.
- Good English communication skills.
- Ability to follow instructions & work independently when required.
- Attention to as well as an eye for detail.
- Excellent time management skills.
- Leadership and team supervision skills.
- Computer literacy and ability to use basic computer applications
