The Assistant Manager, Finance Operations is responsible for supporting day-to-day transactional and operational finance services, ensuring accurate processing, timely issue follow-up, adherence to internal controls and consistent service delivery. The role supports the Finance Operations Manager and Senior Manager in Accounts Payable (AP), Travel & Expense (T&E), Fixed Asset Accounting, Lease Accounting, Bank Reconciliation, Cash Management and Finance Query Management. The incumbent contributes to operational execution, exception handling, stakeholder support, process documentation, continuous improvement activities and achievement of agreed service level commitments within a shared services environment.
Key Roles & Responsibilities
1. Finance Operations Management
- Support the day-to-day operations of Finance Operations activities and coordinate team execution as required.
- Ensure all processes are executed accurately, efficiently and in accordance with established policies and procedures.
- Monitor operational performance, productivity, service quality and customer satisfaction.
- Support operational governance, issue resolution and escalation preparation.
2. Accounts Payable (AP) – End-to-End
- Support AP activities, including invoice receipt, validation, processing, payment support and vendor account maintenance.
- Ensure timely processing of invoices and supplier payments.
- Assist with payment runs and exception management in line with approved controls.
- Monitor AP aging, blocked invoices and overdue payments.
- Partner with Procurement and Business Units to resolve invoice matching and payment issues.
- Ensure compliance with tax, procurement and financial control requirements.

3. Travel & Expense (T&E)
- Support expense claims processing and employee reimbursement activities.
- Review claims for compliance with corporate travel and expense policies and escalate exceptions where required.
- Manage corporate credit card administration and reconciliations.
- Monitor expense claim turnaround times and policy exception rates.
- Drive employee awareness and policy adherence.

4. Fixed Asset Accounting
- Support asset capitalization, transfers, disposals and depreciation activities.
- Ensure integrity and completeness of fixed asset registers.
- Coordinate periodic asset verification exercises.
- Support capital expenditure governance and reporting.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies.

5. Lease Accounting
- Support lease accounting activities in accordance with IFRS 16 / MFRS 16 requirements.
- Maintain lease schedules and accounting records.
- Ensure completeness and accuracy of lease data.
- Review lease modifications and reassessments.
- Support month-end, quarter-end and year-end reporting requirements.

6. Bank Reconciliation
- Perform daily, weekly, and monthly bank reconciliations for all assigned bank accounts.
- Match bank statement transactions against general ledger records.
- Investigate, analyze, and resolve reconciliation differences and outstanding items promptly.
- Follow up with internal stakeholders and banks to clear unreconciled transactions.
- Ensure reconciliation activities comply with established SOPs and internal controls.

7. Cash Management
- Support daily cash management activities, including cash position monitoring, funding requirements and liquidity reporting.
- Coordinate with banks and internal stakeholders on cash movements, transfers and banking matters.
- Monitor cash balances, ensure sufficient funding for operational payments and escalate potential shortfalls or exceptions.
- Support preparation of cash flow reports, forecasts and variance analysis as required.
- Ensure cash management activities comply with treasury policies, banking mandates and internal controls.

8. Controls, Risk & Compliance
- Maintain strong internal controls and segregation of duties.
- Ensure readiness for internal and external audits.
- Identify operational risks and implement mitigation measures.
- Ensure compliance with policies, accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
- Support SOX/internal control testing where applicable.
9. Continuous Improvement & Transformation
- Support automation, standardization and process simplification initiatives.
- Leverage ERP systems, workflow tools and digital solutions to improve efficiency.
- Conduct root cause analysis of operational issues and implement corrective actions.
- Support migration, transitions and process transformation projects as assigned.
10. People Coordination & Team Support
- Coordinate and support finance operations team members in daily execution as assigned.
- Support a collaborative, service-oriented and customer-focused team culture.
- Provide operational input to coaching, knowledge sharing and development discussions where required.
- Support cross-training, knowledge sharing and capability building across finance operations processes.
- Support resource planning and workload coordination to meet service commitments.
Minimum Job Requirement
Qualification:
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or related discipline.
Key Skills & Experience:
Experience
- Experience in finance operations, transactional finance processes and service delivery within a shared services or high-volume operations environment, with 5–7 years of relevant finance operations experience.
- Experience in coordinating work, supporting junior team members and assisting with operational performance tracking within a finance operations or shared services environment, with team lead exposure preferred.
- Knowledge of ERP systems such as Oracle, Coupa, Workday, OneStream or equivalent
