Interior Design Intern
The Consumers Credit Union team is looking to hire a passionate Interior Design Intern to join our Real Estate & Facilities team at our corporate office in Kalamazoo. As an Intern, you will support workplace and furniture projects that help create engaging, functional, and people-focused environments across Consumers Credit Union locations. You'll gain hands-on experience in workplace design, furniture planning, and project coordination while learning about a career in interior design and facilities management.

What you will do:
- Assist with furniture research, finish selections, and product evaluations
- Support workplace planning efforts through furniture layouts and space planning activities
- Create mood boards, presentations, and visual materials for workplace and branch projects
- Help maintain furniture, finish, and workplace standards documentation
- Participate in office visits to assist with field measurements and observations
- Support project teams by organizing drawings, specifications, and project information
- Research workplace trends, employee experience concepts, and innovative furniture solutions
- Collaborate with architects, furniture dealers, contractors, and internal stakeholders to gain exposure to the design and construction process
- Participate in mentor sessions, panels, and role-specific training geared toward advancing your career

- Develop an individual development plan
- Contribute to various potential projects such as:
- Workplace and office design presentations
- Space planning and furniture layout development
- Workplace experience and design trend research
- Facility improvement and renovation projects
- Workplace utilization and optimization initiatives
What you'll bring to the table:
- College junior or equivalent pursuing a degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, Architecture, or a related field
- Ability to maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive information as well as following security guidelines
- Communication Excellence – Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with professional rapport-building ability
- Professional Presence – A polished appearance and composed demeanor that supports collaboration with internal and external partners
- Technical Proficiency – Knowledge of current technology and design software, with the ability to easily navigate multiple software applications
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and creative problem-solving skills
