Description
Our team is seeking a friendly, dependable, and adaptable Part-Time Bistro Attendant to join us at the Courtyard San Diego Gaslamp/Convention Center !
As a Bistro Attendant, you will play an important role in creating a welcoming experience for our guests. You will prepare and serve made-to-order food and beverage items, assist with guest orders, process transactions, maintain a clean and organized Bistro, and provide friendly, efficient service throughout each shift.
We’re looking for a team player who enjoys working with people, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and is willing to jump in wherever needed to create a great guest experience.
This position is scheduled primarily for Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday. Candidates must be available to work these days. Schedule and hours may vary based on business needs.
This position may require flexible scheduling availability.
Requirements
Job Requirements
- Greet guests in a friendly and welcoming manner while providing prompt and attentive service
- Take guest orders, prepare and cook made-to-order food items, and serve food and beverages according to brand standards
- Prepare and serve coffee, specialty beverages, beer, wine, and other Bistro offerings as applicable
- Accurately process guest transactions using the point-of-sale system
- Create a positive Bistro experience for guests from ordering through the completion of service
- Receive, stock, and organize food, beverage, and supply deliveries while ensuring the Bistro remains properly stocked throughout service
- Follow all food safety, sanitation, and responsible alcohol service requirements
- Maintain a clean, organized, and inviting Bistro, including tables, counters, food preparation areas, equipment, and floors
- Complete opening, closing, and side-work responsibilities as assigned
- Assist other hotel departments and team members when needed to support the overall guest experience

- Ability to anticipate guest needs and identify and resolve service issues appropriately
- Readily available and approachable to guests while maintaining a professional and welcoming presence
- Ability to safely prepare and handle food and beverages in accordance with established standards
- Ability to verify identification and responsibly monitor alcoholic beverage service and consumption
- Previous food and beverage, barista, restaurant, or hospitality experience is preferred but not required
- Flexible availability, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays, based on business needs

The number of hours you will be scheduled to work during the week is variable and is based on guest occupancy, season, staffing and other factors. Island Hospitality is unable to guarantee a specific number of work hours per week.
