Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise Database Administration: Oversee database operations to ensure data integrity, accurate backups, high availability, and optimal application performance.
- Maintain Banking Applications: Lead the maintenance of core banking systems, including those supporting branches, digital channels, loans, securities, and asset management, ensuring alignment with business requirements and ICT security and continuity standards.
- Architect System Design: Plan and develop robust banking systems architecture to ensure the stability, scalability, and performance of the entire application ecosystem.
- Incident Management & Troubleshooting: Identify, investigate, and resolve incidents related to banking applications to minimize downtime and service disruption.
- Database Access and Lifecycle Management: Administer and control database access, ensure up-to-date systems, and implement effective data archiving policies.
- Maintenance Procedures: Design and implement database and application maintenance procedures to sustain system reliability and compliance.
- Database Testing & Reliability: Test and enhance databases regularly to ensure reliability, consistency, and adherence to operational requirements.
Required skills, qualifications and knowledge:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. A Master's degree is a plus.
- At least 3 years of experience as DBA. Banking sector is a plus
- Extensive knowledge of databases and database development languages: Oracle, PL/SQL, MS SQL Server
- Extensive knowledge of operating systems: AIX, Linux, Windows
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Very good communication skills
- Fluency in English
