A Lead RPSGT provides day-to-day clinical and operational leadership within the sleep center, supporting staff development, coordinating workflows and scheduling, ensuring high-quality patient care, maintaining compliance with departmental and AASM standards, and assisting leadership with operational and process improvement initiatives. The Lead RPSGT works collaboratively with the Data Analysis Team (DAT) to ensure timely scoring turnaround, facilitate daytime procedures, assist with physician questions, and follow up on patient safety concerns. This role is also responsible for troubleshooting software and hardware issues, coordinating with vendor support as needed, promoting consistent processes and workflows across all sleep center locations, and performing other duties as assigned by management.

Work Schedule:
- Full-Time (80 hours bi-weekly)
- 8:00am to 4:30pm-Mon, Wed, Fri
- 7:00am to 3:30pm-Tuesday and Thursday to accommodate daytime testing

Job Overview:
This is primarily a technical position that assists the manager in overseeing appropriate and efficient functioning of multiple sleep centers, working under the general supervision of the medical director, Manager, or designee to provide comprehensive evaluation and treatment of sleep disorders. Oversees/coordinates the activities of sleep technologists and related technical staff, ensures that day and night shifts operate in a smooth and efficient manner as approved by manager. This may include making technical work assignments, flexing technologist staff, problem solving, being a resource person, and overseeing technical staff performance. May also be asked to represent the department in dealings with other areas. Leads are expected to efficiently coordinate these duties with other Leads if more than one Lead is in the department. Performs the duties of a Registered Polysomnographic Sleep Technologist, including patient relations and education, technologist training and monitoring, and performing daytime polysomnographic procedures. May be responsible for setup and analysis of Home Sleep Tests (HST's), mask fittings, and other daytime procedures as needed or requested. Performs and/or coordinates routine data analysis as needed, and participates in research projects as necessary. Oversees disinfection procedures and verifies that technical staff is well trained, properly documenting and implementing all cleaning procedures in the sleep centers. Develops, updates, and distributes overnight monitoring schedule in conjunction with manager. Responsible for coordinating with manager on inventory and ordering of supplies, nutrition supplies, housekeeping and laundry services, as well as routine maintenance. Serves as liaison between sleep center front office, as well as night staff and scheduling department to maintain an appropriate schedule. Verifies that all patient-related material is handled properly and complies with HIPAA regulations. Other duties may be assigned, including health fairs and other special events. Assists manager with duties assigned by the manager in their absence, including potential off-shift calls from sleep technologists and office team members needing assistance. Provides situational support and professional assistance in collaboration with Front Office Coordinator or designee as needed or as assigned by the manager. Job Requirements:
Graduate of an approved technical, professional, or vocational program in Other Technology
Equivalent experience accepted in lieu of degree
Extensive knowledge of sleep software, disinfection protocols to meet JCAHO standards
Data analysis skills and sleep testing procedures
Able to assist in development and implementation of sleep center policies and prcoedures.
6-8 years experience Technical Other Technology
Job Responsibilities:
Functions independently according to guidelines of the Sleep Disorders Center. Interacts effectively with patients, coworkers, Supervisor/Manager and Medical Director. Takes vital signs. Proficient at sleep staging/respiratory scoring. Detects high-risk ventricular arrhythmias. Attends yearly EKG basic arrhythmia update course. Proficient in measuring, fitting and titrating CPAP and Bi-level therapy to standards. Understands TriHealth Policy & Procedures, and follows appropriate chain of command.
Facilitates patient comfort and explains all facets of testing. Reviews existing patient information, orders, and protocols. Applies knowledge of polysomnographic equipment and verifies equipment is functioning properly and can provide troubleshooting. Monitors patients throughout scheduled recording period and makes any necessary adjustments. Identifies normal/abnormal patterns and generates a report of the patient's sleep staging and other clinical events. Completes efficient scoring applying professionally accepted guidelines. Reviews results with physician if unclear. Capable of performing various specialized procedures, ambulatory monitoring, and patient education.
Confirms patient sleepover session and explains testing procedures. Helps to coordinate and schedule additional ancillary testing. Ensures proper storage of patient records. Documents all patient tracking. Initials and signs all papers completed. Verifies that data analysis scoring and pertinent information is complete prior to AM rounds. Verifies that all chart papers, photos, etc. are in proper chart location prior to end of shift. Operates advanced medical equipment to record sleep/wake physiology. Respond with appropriate interventions to ensure patient safety and proper treatment.
Verifies that the Control Room, Patient Rooms, and halls are left in acceptable clean condition. Ensures policies and procedures are understood and followed. Assists in P&P development. Performs weekly supply inventory of storeroom items. Facilitates proper use & maintenance of all equipment. Participates in group tours, public speaking or education activities as directed. Notifies supervisor of emergencies or concerns. Assists new employees and trainees as requested by the Supervisor or Medical Director. Works closely with new hires & assists in the training of non-registered technologists.
Responsible for maintaining supply inventory par levels by communicating with all team members on a regular basis. Able to participate in group tours, public speaking or education activities to help promote the sleep centers if needed. Notifies Manager and/or Supervisor of emergencies or concerns. Assists new hires and the training of non-registered technologists as requested by the Manager, Supervisor or Medical Director. Performs all other related duties as assigned by the Medical Director, Manager or Supervisor.
Other Job-Related Information:
Review and maintain current standards for the field of sleep medicine, including updates from the AASM, BRPT, and AAST. Coordinate services to conform with insurance updates to assure appropriate patient care.
