About this role
The Sector Research Strategist will join the Sector ETF Strategy & Research team and contribute to investment research, market insights, and competitive product positioning. We are looking for a grounded, intellectually curious professional who follows financial markets closely and is motivated to build deep expertise in assigned equity sectors.
The successful candidate will combine a solid understanding of equity fundamentals with a working knowledge of how macroeconomic developments influence sector performance. This person should enjoy conducting detailed, hands-on research, working with data, and collaborating with colleagues across ETF Research, Product, Marketing, Distribution, and Investment teams. The role requires strong analytical judgment, advanced Excel skills, clear communication, attention to detail, and a willingness to learn.
Key responsibilities
- Conduct in-depth fundamental and quantitative research on assigned equity sectors, building expertise in the key industries and the economic variables that shape sector performance.
- Monitor financial markets, macroeconomic developments, sector fundamentals, ETF flows, investor positioning, and the competitive ETF landscape to identify relevant trends and investment implications.
- Build, maintain, and continuously improve research models, databases, dashboards, and analytical workflows, leveraging Excel, AI tools, and other technologies to make sector research and data analysis more efficient and insightful.
- Develop research, market commentary, presentations, and educational materials that communicate sector insights clearly to diverse audiences and support the firm's thought leadership and distribution efforts.
- Develop a strong understanding of sector ETF products and related investment strategies, including their exposures, use cases, and options-based approaches, and explain these concepts clearly to internal and external audiences.
- Collaborate closely with Product, Marketing, Distribution, and Investment teams on existing ETF positioning, client communication, marketing initiatives, and potential product opportunities.
- Take ownership of assigned projects and recurring deliverables, balance multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and follow work through to completion with accuracy and professionalism.

- Strong understanding of equity fundamentals and macroeconomic dynamics, with the analytical ability to connect economic data, sector fundamentals, market developments, and investor behavior into well-supported conclusions.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including the ability to organize and analyze large datasets, build and maintain monitors/dashboards.
- Experience using AI tools to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of investment research and data analysis.
- Demonstrated analytical ability to connect economic data, market developments, sector fundamentals, ETF information, and investor behavior to form well-supported conclusions.
- An in-depth, hands-on approach to research, with strong attention to detail, intellectual honesty, and a practical, solutions-oriented mindset.
- Clear and concise writing and presentation skills, with the ability to explain investment concepts to audiences with varying levels of investment knowledge.
- A collaborative working style, combined with the ability to work independently, seek feedback, and contribute to a global team.
- Creativity, sound judgment, initiative, and the ability to prioritize recurring responsibilities alongside ad hoc research assignments in a fast-paced environment.
Education and preferred qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in investment research, asset management, equity analysis, ETF research, or a related field.
- Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, business, mathematics, statistics, or a related discipline; an advanced degree is a plus.
- CFA or CAIA designation, or progress toward either designation, is preferred.
- Experience using Bloomberg and/or FactSet is preferred.
- Working knowledge of equity markets, portfolio construction, and derivatives or options-based investment strategies.
- Experience conducting fundamental or quantitative investment research and presenting findings in written or verbal form.
- Ability to obtain required securities licenses, including Series 7 and Series 63, within six months of joining.d degree is a plus.

Salary Range:
$120,000 - $202,500 Annual
The range quoted above applies to the role in the primary location specified. If the candidate would ultimately work outside of the primary location above, the applicable range could differ.
