Local Government Reorganisation

The Government has confirmed that local government across Lancashire will be reorganised, with the current 15 councils being replaced by four new unitary councils covering North, South, East and West Lancashire from April 2029.

If you are successful in your application, you will initially join Lancashire County Council. However, as part of the planned transition, your employment will transfer to one of the new unitary councils from April 2029, subject to the implementation of the reorganisation and relevant employment legislation.

Throughout this period, our focus remains on delivering excellent services to our communities. By joining us now, you'll play an important role in shaping the future of local government and helping to build a strong new organisation that will serve residents for years to come.

Education Improvement Team | Full Time | Union Street, Chorley

Are you an enthusiastic, organised and proactive individual looking to make a real difference in education? We're seeking a motivated Business Support Officer to join our friendly, supportive and high-performing team within the Education, Quality and Performance (School Improvement) service.

This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in supporting managers and operational colleagues across the Education and Children's Directorate, helping to deliver services that positively impact schools, children and families across Lancashire.

What We're Looking For

Ideally, you will have previous administration experience and a commitment to delivering a high-quality service.

Working Arrangements

This role is based at Union Street, Chorley, with a combination of office and home working currently in place to support service delivery needs. Applicants should have access to a suitable homeworking environment and broadband connection. Where this is not possible, office-based working arrangements can be discussed.
