Position Summary
The Solution Consultant Manager – Manufacturing is responsible for leading the technical sales and solution consulting function for the Manufacturing portfolio, working closely with sales teams, channel partners, customers, and technology principals to drive business growth and customer transformation.
The role combines technical leadership, consultative selling, solution architecture, customer engagement, partner enablement, and team management. The successful candidate will translate manufacturing business challenges into compelling technology solutions, accelerate complex sales opportunities, strengthen customer adoption, and identify opportunities for solution expansion.
The role requires a strong understanding of the manufacturing design and engineering lifecycle, with the ability to engage technical users through to engineering managers, IT leaders and C-level stakeholders.
This role requires a commercially strong technical leader with 10-15 years of experience in CAD and similar software, and a proven track record managing both direct customer engagement and indirect channel execution.
The SC Manager will operate in an Industry class distribution model, ensuring clear governance between vendor-led, direct-touch, partner-led and TD SYNNEX-led motions while protecting channel neutrality, partner trust, compliance, and Autodesk business priorities.
Key Focus Areas
- Manufacturing Solution Consulting & Technical Sales Lead technical sales engagements across the Manufacturing portfolio, including customer discovery, solution architecture, demonstrations, workshops, proof-of-concepts and executive presentations. Translate engineering challenges into compelling technology solutions and business outcomes.
- Customer Transformation & Solution Expansion Help customers improve their engineering and manufacturing workflows through digital transformation. Drive adoption, value realization and expansion across CAD, CAM, CAE, PDM/PLM, cloud and related manufacturing solutions.
- Solution Consultant Team Leadership Lead, coach and develop the Solution Consulting team. Establish consistent discovery, technical selling and solution consulting practices while aligning technical resources to strategic opportunities and business targets.
- Partner Enablement & Ecosystem Growth Work with channel partners to strengthen their technical capabilities, improve solution-selling skills and develop higher-value Manufacturing opportunities. Support partner enablement, strategic opportunities and go-to-market initiatives.
- Industry Convergence, AI & Emerging Technology Identify opportunities across Manufacturing and adjacent industries through industry convergence and connected engineering workflows. Maintain working knowledge of AI, automation, cloud, digital thread and emerging engineering technologies, with basic programming, scripting or API knowledge considered an advantage.
- Market & Thought Leadership Represent the organization as a Manufacturing technology subject-matter expert through customer engagements, seminars, webinars, workshops and industry events. Work with Sales, Marketing and technology principals to strengthen market awareness, competitive positioning and solution adoption.
- margin-top:0cm;"> margin-top:0cm;">undefinedEssential Duties & Responsibilities· Lead and manage the Manufacturing Solution Consulting team, including resource planning, coaching, mentoring and performance development.· Own the technical sales strategy for strategic Manufacturing opportunities, supporting the sales organization from discovery through technical validation and closure.· Conduct customer discovery and business-process assessments to uncover engineering and manufacturing challenges.· Develop and present solution architectures, demonstrations, workshops, proof-of-concepts and executive-level presentations.· Translate technical capabilities into business value, ROI and measurable customer outcomes.· Develop and implement standardized technical discovery and consultative selling frameworks.· Support competitive displacement by identifying customer pain points and positioning differentiated integrated solutions.· Drive customer adoption, value realization and expansion across the Manufacturing installed base.· Identify opportunities to expand customer solutions across CAD, CAM, CAE, PDM/PLM, cloud and manufacturing technologies.· Lead or support consulting and implementation engagements to accelerate deployment and customer time-to-value.· Develop and execute technical enablement programs for channel partners.· Support partners in developing strategic account plans, opportunity strategies and business-transformation propositions.· Work closely with Sales and Business Development teams to improve pipeline quality, opportunity conversion and sales-cycle velocity.· Develop technical content including solution presentations, demonstrations, workshops, playbooks, technical proposals and enablement materials.· Represent the organization at customer meetings, industry events, seminars, webinars and technical forums.· Maintain strong knowledge of the Manufacturing engineering lifecycle, competitive landscape and emerging technologies.· Collaborate with internal and principal teams to align market requirements, product strategy and go-to-market initiatives.· Establish and monitor Solution Consulting KPIs covering technical engagement, opportunity progression, win rates, customer adoption and expansion.· Continuously improve the Solution Consulting operating model, methodologies and technical best practices.· Act as a trusted technical advisor to customers, partners, sales teams and senior stakeholders.· Build trusted relationships with reseller/VAR partners, solution partners, strategic accounts and end customers to identify opportunities, remove blockers and accelerate adoption of Autodesk solutions.
- Skills & Experience· 10-15 years of experience in CAD, design software, engineering software, manufacturing experience SaaS/subscription solutions or similar technology markets.· Proven experience engaging both direct and channel business models, ideally in software distribution, value-added distribution, reseller ecosystems or vendor channel roles.· Strong understanding of Autodesk and/or similar solutions and the broader CAD/design software market, including AEC, manufacturing, product design, construction, media and related workflows.· Fluent English communication skills are required, including executive-level written communication, presentations and negotiation.· Experience leading customer-facing technical engagements, including demonstrations, workshops, discovery sessions and proof-of-concepts.· Experience managing, coaching or mentoring technical/pre-sales professionals.· Experience working across APAC markets with sensitivity to local business practices, partner maturity, language, culture and country-specific commercial dynamics.· Ability to influence without direct authority across vendors, country teams, sales, marketing, operations, finance, legal and partner organizations.· Excellent negotiation, conflict-management and stakeholder-management skills, especially in multi-party channel environments.· Working knowledge of CRM systems, pipeline dashboards, business intelligence tools, partner portals and digital distribution platforms.· Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification in Engineering, Manufacturing, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, Computer Science or a related technical discipline.· Willingness to travel across APAC and as required by business needs.
