At Disney Experiences Technology, our team creates world-class immersive and digital experiences for the Company’s vacation brands, Disney’s Parks and Resorts worldwide, Disney Cruise Line, Aulani, A Disney Resort & Spa, and Disney Vacation Club. The Disney Experiences Technology team is responsible for the end-to-end digital and physical Guest experience for all technology & digital-led initiatives across the Attractions & Entertainment, Food & Beverage, Resorts & Transportation, and Merchandise lines of business as well as other initiatives including the MyDisneyExperience app and Hey, Disney!

We are a group of Disney technologists who love to work on the latest technology to build new features and improve existing components of Disney’s Online Platform specializing in Ticketing Products for various brands within the Walt Disney Company. Key Products include Theme Park Tickets, Water Park Tickets, Special Offers, Annual Passes, Special Events, supporting both Disneyland, and Walt Disney World.

About the Role & Team

The Associate Software Engineer is a full stack engineering–focused position on the Commerce Ticketing team within Disney Experiences Technology (DXT). This team is instrumental in delivering ticketing products and guest-facing features, with an emphasis on improving efficiency, establishing standards, and promoting reusability across the organization.

Reporting to the Technology Manager, the Associate Software Engineer will join a full stack  engineering–focused team of contributors. In this role, they will help build and deliver shared libraries, enhance existing applications with new features, and implement solutions designed in partnership with the Architecture team.

What You Will Do

- Assist in design, code, and debug scalable, secure, and high-performance digital commerce ticketing applications and features.

- Support development components and frameworks for Java Script/Angular/Node/Flutter based web applications using AI tools.

- Perform hands-on component-level coding, conduct code reviews, and enforce coding standards and best practices.

- Communicate blockers during daily standups and proactively research mitigation plans.

- Document completed work and showcase it during sprint and demo meetings.

- Collaborate with other team members (including Senior engineers, Product Owners, TPMs, and other business units) to achieve product and business requirements.

- Deliver high-visibility projects successfully using the recommended technology stack.

- Write unit tests and maintain 90% code coverage.

Basic Qualifications:

- Understands basic security using latest runtimes for Node.js Typescript.

- Prior experience working on fast pace and high-performance team.

- Proficient in writing quality code with unit tests

- Contributed to the entire development cycle, including technical design, development, testing, experimentation, analysis, and releases.

- Collaborated in the development and review of code, design documents, standards, testing, debugging, and workflows.

- Ability to support application code promotions and production deployments.

- Skilled in conducting quality code reviews and providing constructive, actionable feedback.

Preferred Qualifications:

- 1+ Years of experience and knowledge on front-end technologies like Angular, Java script, and CSS.

- Passion for the legacy, brands, and offerings of The Walt Disney Company

- Able to maintain code in version control software – Git and GitHub

- Experience with AI tools such as RAG, Cursor, Claude, GitHub MCP, Atlassian MCP etc.

- Contribute to the new Initiatives and Projects with Software Development Delivery Lifecycle and Agile methodologies.

- Strong personal and communication skills for technical audiences.

- Ability to prioritize work, resolve conflicts, and manage delivery across multiple efforts.

Required Education

- Bachelor’s in computer science or comparable field of study, and/or equivalent work experience
The hiring range for this position in Glendale, CA is $98,900.00 to $132,600.00 per year based on a 40 hour work week. The amount of hours scheduled per week may vary based on business needs. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
