Inventory Control Specialists are responsible for driving cost avoidance and savings through the optimized use of inventory throughout the field. This role supports the Field Operations department through inventory management project execution in line with business trends, system issues, and employee actions. This role will work cross-functionally to execute policies and processes to increase the efficiency and success of inventory management for the entire Operations team. This role is responsible for tracking and improving inventory related metrics throughout the entire company. This role will provide customer service and support to Field Employees, Field Management team, and Supply Chain Ops team to facilitate company initiatives and cost savings. This role includes working in person with Field Operations and may include some travel needs (approx. 5-35%).

External Description

Primary Responsibilities

-Working with internal ticketing systems to complete requests from stakeholders related to inventory tracking and transactions

-Ensure compliance with sourcing policies and procedures, ethical practices, and adherence to relevant laws and regulations while holding technicians accountable for inventory losses and policy breaches

-Track system transactions and resolve failed inventory transactions

-Act as an inventory liaison for all branches of technicians in the field

-Utilize reporting on high impact metrics on a regular basis, providing transparency to the field and upper management

-Form excellent working relationships with individuals in various departments and communicate effectively and positively on issues related to inventory control issues

-Participate in auditing field inventory for accuracy and good practice

-Maintain/Track adherence assigned to Inventory Control. Create/Update/Modify SOP’s, assisting in projects to drive permanent solutions

-Participate in field training meetings, including conducting training events providing coaching and solutions for improvement based on audit findings as well as suggestions for improved training

-Work directly with field technicians and cross-functional teams, helping resolve inventory inaccuracies, training on inventory management processes, and compiling daily reports for various organizations and levels of management

-Develop strategies to reduce inventory losses/finds/damage across the company while increasing awareness of key issues

Key Qualifications

-Experience in customer service, inventory planning, or inventory management is preferred

-Ability to think critically, independently, and create solutions

-Ability to work autonomously and proactively

-Proficient in Microsoft Excel

Required Experience

-Bachelor’s degree (Supply Chain, Business Analytics, or Logistics preferred) or equivalent experience

-2+ years of experience in field audits

-2+ years IC department experience

-Proven ability analyzing inventory control data presenting improvements solution with results

-Proven ability to prioritize IC responsibilities to streamline and reduce time spent on daily/weekly tasks

-Proven ability to recognize large impact projects, owning them from start to finish and implementing projects in a timely manner

-Demonstrate strong proficiency in Microsoft Office including Excel (pivot tables/functions/data filtering), Word, and Outlook
