Who are we looking for?

The general purpose of this position is to manage the Automation and process controls for all existing and new process to eliminate labor, reduce cost and ensure quality. The position is also responsible for developing programs and implementing all controls for new machines; designing and developing process controls, automation and data acquisition systems for Alpha globally; and managing databases for the products, processes and QC information.

What will you be doing?

- Install and commission software and hardware for process automation, controls and data acquisition.

- Design and manage databases to collect QC data and process performance data.

- Analyze existing processes, procedures and equipment for process automation and improvement

- Stay current in process control technology to resolve problems using solutions that involve new techniques, technologies and concepts

- Support global sites with software and hardware issues

Control-system architecture:

- Engineering and detailed design for new equipment, processes and packaging lines.

- Translate PFDs/P&IDs into I/O lists, control narratives, and cause-&-effect matrices.

- Specify and configure PLC/DCS/HMI/SCADA platforms (Rockwell, Siemens, DeltaV, etc.) and industrial networks (EtherNet/IP, PROFINET, Profibus, Modbus).

Programming & Commissioning:

- Develop compliant code, sequential/batch logic, alarm strategies, and historian interfaces.

- Lead FAT/SAT, start‑up, and on‑site commissioning; troubleshoot to root cause and drive continuous improvement.

Process & functional safety:

- Perform LOPA/SIL verifications, design safety‑instrumented functions, and ensure compliance with NFPA 70/79, UL 508A, and IEC 61511 in flammable, corrosive, or cleanroom environments.

Data & analytics:

- Deploy data‑collection and visualization tools (OSI PI, SQL, Python) to monitor KPIs.

Strategic Focus

- Developing and implementing process control systems and automation systems for new machines, processes and facilities.

- Developing and implementing data acquisition systems for manufacturing processes.

- Build control panels, small process and field troubleshooting.

Who are You?

- A bachelor’s degree required in a STEM field, Chemistry or Chemical Engineering preferred.

- Possess 3 years of relevant experience in process or industrial automation role, with preferred experience in an industrial manufacturing environment.

- Involvement in projects such as pilot production or scale up experience is an added advantage.

- Ability to work in fast paced environment.

What competencies will you need?

- 3+ years hands‑on experience designing and commissioning PLC/DCS/HMI systems in batch or continuous manufacturing plants.

- Proven expertise with at least one major platform (e.g., Rockwell ControlLogix, Siemens PCS 7, Emerson DeltaV, ABB 800xA, or Honeywell Experion).

- Familiarity with vision systems, servo drives, and safety PLCs.

- Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and written/verbal communication skills.
