Job Summary: The MRI Technologist (Warren Clinic) performs diagnostic magnetic resonance imaging procedures in a clinic environment, ensuring high-quality images for accurate physician interpretation. This role involves patient preparation, safety monitoring, and collaboration with radiologists and clinical staff to deliver exceptional patient care.

Minimum Education: Completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology Program.

Licensure, Registration and/or Certification: Registration from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) or American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologist (ARMRIT).

Work Experience: Minimum 6 months related experience.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and pathology as it relates to MRI imaging. Knowledge of safety standards, including screening for metallic implants and other contraindications. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal that present clear and concise information to guide and reassure patients. Sound ability to maintain professional and courteous and demonstrate flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic work environment. Ability to follow precise imaging protocols and maintain quality standards.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities: Operates MRI equipment to acquire diagnostic images according to established protocols. Prepares patients for MRI exams, explaining procedures, screening for contraindications, and positioning for optimal imaging. Monitors patient safety throughout the imaging process, including observing for adverse reactions and responding to emergencies. Collaborates with radiologists and referring physicians to ensure imaging meets diagnostic requirements. Maintains accurate patient records, document procedures, and ensure images are properly stored and archived. Performs routine equipment quality checks and assist in troubleshooting technical issues. Adheres to all radiation safety, infection control, and HIPAA regulations. Participates in continuous education and professional development to stay current with MRI technology and best practices.

Decision Making: Independent judgment in planning sequence of operations and making minor decisions in a complex technical or professional field.

Working Relationships: Coordinates activities of others (does not supervise). Coordinates and leads others in same work performed (does not supervise). Works directly with patients and/or customers. Works with internal and/or external customers via telephone or face to face interaction.

Works with other healthcare professionals and staff. Works frequently with individuals at Director level or above.
