JOB SUMMARY
The Postdoctoral Research Fellow will support a program of research at the intersection of physical activity, disability, rehabilitation, and health equity in the TRIBE Lab, Department of Physical Therapy, Movement, and Rehabilitation Sciences. The position contributes to developing and testing educational interventions for rehabilitation professionals and to evaluating community-based physical activity programs for people with disabilities. Working under the direction of the faculty principal investigator, the postdoc will coordinate studies, lead qualitative and mixed-methods analyses, contribute to manuscripts and grant applications, and mentor student researchers while developing toward an independent research career. Start date January 2027.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge of qualitative and mixed-method research design and analysis, research ethics and IRB procedures, and disability, rehabilitation, or physical activity research. Ability to manage multiple concurrent studies, work collaboratively with community partners, clinicians, and students, and write for peer-reviewed publication. As normally acquired through a doctoral degree (PhD or equivalent) in kinesiology, rehabilitation science, public health, health professions education, or a related field, completed by the start date, and 0–3 years of postdoctoral research experience.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Coordinates day-to-day implementation of research studies, including IRB submissions, participant recruitment, data collection, and meetings with stakeholder and community partners.
- Develops and maintains study protocols, data management systems, and project timelines.
- Ensures studies are conducted ethically, on schedule, and in accordance with approved protocols.
- Co-leads qualitative and mixed-methods data analysis, including codebook development, coder training and reconciliation, and thematic analysis.
- Designs evaluation frameworks, logic models, and outcome measures for community-based physical activity programs for people with disabilities.
- Manages and analyzes survey and feasibility data and prepares reports for research and community partners.
- Leads and co-authors peer-reviewed manuscripts, conference abstracts, and presentations.
- Translates research findings into accessible materials for community partners, clinicians, and participants.
- Contributes to the lab’s visibility in disability and rehabilitation research.

Expected Hiring Range:
$60,315.00 - $85,192.50
