About this role

RWE Design Build is seeking a Senior Architect to support our growing portfolio of projects in the veterinary, dental, and medical sectors.

Senior Architect

Key Responsibilities:

Conceptual Design:

- Develop initial design concepts based on client requirements, budget constraints, and site considerations.
- Create sketches, renderings, and 3D models to visually communicate design ideas.

Space Planning:

- Analyze and plan the layout of spaces within buildings for optimal functionality and efficiency.
- Consider factors such as user needs, accessibility, and workflow in the design process.

Technical Drawings:

- Produce detailed technical drawings, including floor plans, elevations, sections, and construction details.
- Use computer-aided design (CAD) software for precision and efficiency.

Material and Finish Selection:

- Specify materials, finishes, and color schemes in line with the design concept and project requirements.
- Collaborate with interior designers and other specialists to integrate aesthetic and functional elements.

Collaboration with Clients and Stakeholders:

- Engage with clients to understand their vision, requirements, and expectations.
- Present design proposals and gather feedback to refine and finalize the design.

Code Compliance:

- Ensure designs comply with local building codes, zoning regulations, and other legal requirements.
- Obtain necessary permits and approvals for proposed designs.

Project Management:

- Oversee the implementation of design concepts during the construction phase.
- Collaborate with contractors, engineers, and other professionals to address design-related issues and modifications.

Site Analysis:

- Conduct site visits and analysis to assess environmental and contextual factors that may impact the design.
- Integrate site-specific considerations into the overall design approach.

Requirements

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in Architecture from an accredited institution.
- Proven experience in architectural design, with a portfolio showcasing a range of projects.
- Proficiency in architectural design software, such as Revit, and Bluebeam.
- Strong creative and analytical thinking skills.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.

Additional Requirements:

- 10+ years of proven experience in architectural design, with a portfolio showcasing a range of projects.
- Experience with veterinarian design a plus, but not required
- Familiarity with sustainable design principles and green building practices.
- Knowledge of current trends and advancements in architecture.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
