IMEG is hiring a Commissioning Project Authority in San Antonio, TX, to perform the full range of commissioning responsibilities on moderate-size and complexity building projects and support senior staff on larger, more complex building projects. This role prepares commissioning plans and specifications, completes design reviews, and supports functional testing and post-occupancy follow-up activities.
You will coordinate with clients and multidisciplinary project teams, manage schedules and budgets, and lead field observations and commissioning meetings. The team supports commissioning, strategic growth services, and building systems work across a range of building markets.

What You'll Do
· Manage and/or support multiple commissioning projects, including client interface, team coordination, schedule management, and budget management.
· Assist the Cx Authority/Engineer with construction and renovation commissioning projects.
· Prepare commissioning plans, reports, pre-functional checklists, and functional performance test procedures.
· Perform commissioning reviews of construction documents and equipment submittals.
· Use web-based project management and documentation tools, including Cx Alloy.
· Assist with functional testing of building systems and perform technical analysis of building operations, controls, and sequences.
· Perform jobsite field observations, write detailed field reports, and lead Cx meetings.
· Proactively communicate with a wide range of client stakeholders.
· Collaborate with engineers, architects, and project managers to deliver integrated solutions that meet project goals.
· Contribute to improving Cx processes and best practices.
· Mentor and develop less-experienced employees in a team-based atmosphere
Bring
Required Education
· Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent required
· Engineer-In-Training (EIT) certification preferred
OR
· Recognized Building Commissioning Certification preferred (or ability and desire to obtain one)
Experience
· 3 years of experience minimum required, 4 preferred, in Commissioning or in the Mechanical Electrical Plumbing (MEP) consulting industry, or equivalent
OR
· 7 years of experience minimum required, 8 preferred, in Commissioning or in the Mechanical Electrical Plumbing (MEP) design consulting industry, or equivalent
Required Skills/Abilities
· Strong oral and written skills and a proven ability to interact professionally with a wide a range of clients
· Solid understanding of HVAC and electrical system designs and operations
· Working knowledge of building automation and lighting control systems
· Working knowledge of Cx Industry Standards (ASHRAE, ACG, BCxA) and code requirements
· Knowledge of applicable codes and standards (CEC Title 24, ASHRAE, IECC, IMC, NEC, etc.)
· Demonstrated ability to read and understand construction documents (mechanical, controls, plumbing, and electrical drawings, specifications, etc.)
· Proficient understanding of electrical and fire/life safety systems
· Knowledge of construction industry safety practices and procedures
· Troubleshooting of field devices and control hardware and software
· Capable of self-performing functional testing of building MEP systems
· Proficient with MS Office Suite including but not limited to Word, Excel, and Outlook
· Skilled with PDF editors (Bluebeam, Adobe), plus additional online project management software
· Ability to travel up to 30% (travel will depend on project needs and may vary widely)

· Recurring services include commissioning, retro-commissioning, monitoring-based commissioning, warranty-period verification, and utility analytics.
· Recent work includes Minneapolis Terminal 1 Airside Modernization Project, Transportation, and Obama Presidential Center, Government (City/County/State).
