About this role
The Warehouse Operations Associate performs core inbound and outbound activities to ensure accurate, timely distribution. Responsibilities include unloading, receiving, put away, order picking/packing, staging, loading, and documenting shipments in the Warehouse Management System (WMS). The role prioritizes safety, quality, and inventory accuracy while handling products according to standard procedures. The associate operates material handling equipment and supports cycle counts as needed.
Shift: Monday-Friday - Varying Hours
Warehouse Hours of Operation: 0400-1700
Key Accountabilities
- Check in and unload delivery trucks; receive inbound products and verify accuracy.
- Track and document inbound shipment arrivals and outbound shipment departure times.
- Tag, label, and properly identify stock.
- Put away inbound freight and maintain organized, orderly storage locations.
- Pick, fill, pack, and prepare assigned orders for shipment using WMS software (e.g., JD Edwards).
- Box and pack outgoing shipments in accordance with established procedures and standards.
- Load outbound shipments onto route trucks and third-party carriers per company standards.
- Carefully handle fragile and sensitive packages.
- Record, report, and manage damaged shipments.
- Dispose of damaged product in accordance with established procedures.
- Communicate inventory discrepancies and product/lot issues to the Supervisor or Transport Group.
- Operate material handling equipment and floor sweepers safely.
- Assist with monthly and annual inventory cycle counts.
- Follow all SOPs and safety rules, always making safety a priority.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 1-3 years of prior warehouse experience (or an equivalent combination of education and experience).
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to prioritize, multitask, and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Demonstrated problem-solving ability.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Preferences
- Forklift certification is preferred.
- Experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and inventory transactions in an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system.
Working Conditions & Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 lbs. (occasionally more with team lifts or mechanical assistance).
- Prolonged standing and walking for the duration of the shift, often 8–12 hours.
- Frequent bending, stooping, kneeling, reaching, twisting, and climbing as part of daily tasks.
- Performance of repetitive motions such as picking, packing, scanning, labeling, and loading/unloading.
- Work performed in a warehouse environment with exposure to dust, noise, moving machinery, and powered industrial equipment.
- Operation of material handling equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, order pickers, and conveyors (certification required or obtained on the job).
- Work may occur in non–climate-controlled facilities, with exposure to hot, cold, or fluctuating temperatures.
- Adherence to safety protocols, SOPs, and PPE requirements at all times.
*This position could be offered at different levels for candidates who qualify with a combination of advanced levels of education and/or years of experience. The salary range will adjust along with the level of the role to match the person’s relevant experience and/or education level.
