VP - Marketing
SUMMARY:
Leads Pace's enterprise marketing function and develops and executes a unified marketing strategy supporting growth across Pace Analytical Services, Pace Life Sciences, and Corporate initiatives. Partners with executive leadership, commercial teams, operations, scientific leaders, and corporate functions to strengthen the Pace brand, accelerate revenue growth, improve customer engagement, and expand market presence. Serves as the senior marketing leader for the organization and transforms marketing into a strategic growth engine through market intelligence, customer insights, digital capabilities, thought leadership, and demand generation that drive measurable business outcomes.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :
Enterprise Marketing Strategy
• Develop and execute an enterprise-wide marketing strategy aligned with Pace's strategic growth objectives.
• Create a unified market presence while supporting the unique value propositions of individual business units.
• Lead long-term branding, positioning, and customer engagement strategies.
• Advise executive leadership on market trends, customer needs, competitive dynamics, and growth opportunities.
• Establish enterprise marketing priorities, investments, and performance measures.
Demand Generation and Revenue Growth
• Drive qualified lead generation and pipeline growth across all business segments.
• Partner with commercial leadership to improve customer acquisition, retention, and share-of-wallet growth.
• Develop segmentation strategies and targeted growth initiatives for priority markets and customer groups.
• Implement account-based marketing, digital campaigns, customer nurturing programs, and content strategies.
• Optimize marketing investment to maximize return on investment and revenue impact.
Brand and Market Positioning
• Serve as steward of the Pace brand across all customer-facing channels.
• Ensure consistency of messaging, visual identity, and market positioning throughout the organization.
• Develop thought leadership strategies that strengthen Pace's reputation as a scientific and technical services leader.
• Oversee strategic communications supporting customer engagement, market visibility, and industry influence.
• Support executive visibility, speaking engagements, industry events, and customer-facing initiatives.
Digital Marketing and Customer Experience
• Lead enterprise digital marketing strategy, including website management, search optimization, social media, marketing automation, and analytics.
• Improve customer engagement throughout the buying journey.
• Utilize data and analytics to enhance campaign performance and customer experience.
• Drive modernization of marketing technology platforms and capabilities.
Market Intelligence and Commercial Enablement
• Establish a disciplined market intelligence function to monitor customer needs, industry trends, competitive activity, and emerging opportunities.
• Translate market insights into actionable growth strategies.
• Support commercial teams with sales enablement tools, customer intelligence, and value-based messaging.
• Partner with business leaders to launch new services, expand into new markets, and strengthen customer relationships.
Enterprise Leadership
• Build and lead a high-performing marketing organization focused on accountability, innovation, and business impact.
• Develop talent, succession plans, and organizational capability within the marketing function.
• Foster strong partnerships across Operations, Sales, Scientific Leadership, Human Resources, Finance, and Corporate functions.
• Support enterprise strategic initiatives, including acquisitions, integration efforts, and market expansion activities.
• Serve as a member of the extended leadership team and contribute to enterprise strategy discussions.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, Life Sciences, or a related field; AND 15 or more years of progressive marketing leadership experience, including demonstrated success building and leading marketing organizations in complex business-to-business environments; OR an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Requires experience developing enterprise marketing strategies across multiple products, services, business units, or customer segments; translating marketing investment into measurable commercial outcomes; working directly with senior leadership teams; and leading digital marketing, marketing automation, customer analytics, and modern demand-generation practices. Requires strong executive presence and strong financial and business acumen.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Business Administration or a related field.
- Experience in laboratory services, life sciences, healthcare services, environmental services, testing and inspection, professional services, or other technical business-to-business industries.
- Experience within private equity-backed organizations.
- Experience supporting acquisitions and post-acquisition integration.
- Experience leading marketing transformation and capability-building initiatives.
Required Knowledge:
• Knowledge of enterprise marketing strategy, brand management, market positioning, segmentation, demand generation, and customer lifecycle practices in complex business-to-business environments.
• Knowledge of digital marketing, website management, search optimization, social media, marketing automation, customer analytics, and modern marketing technology platforms.
• Knowledge of market intelligence methods used to evaluate customer needs, industry trends, competitive activity, and emerging growth opportunities.
• Knowledge of commercial enablement practices, including account-based marketing, customer nurturing, value-based messaging, and new-service launches.
• Knowledge of financial planning, marketing investment analysis, performance measurement, and return-on-investment evaluation.

PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:

WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
Work is performed in an office setting and may include flexible or hybrid work arrangements. The role requires regular interaction with executive leadership, business leaders, employees, customers, and external stakeholders and may require travel to company locations, customer meetings, and industry events.
