About this role
The Management Department in the Saunders College of Business at Rochester Institute of Technology invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track assistant professor of supply chain management starting August 11, 2027. Candidates who are close to completing their doctoral degree in supply chain management, operations management, logistics, sourcing, purchasing and supply management, or related areas are encouraged to apply. Assistant professors with prior experience are also encouraged to apply. Teaching load is 2/2 for pre-tenure faculty and includes teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in supply chain analytics, sourcing, logistics, operations management, decision sciences, project management, and other related areas. The ideal candidate will demonstrate the potential to produce high-quality research. Evidence of teaching effectiveness at either the undergraduate or graduate level is expected.

THE COLLEGE/ DEPARTMENT:
The Saunders College of Business (SCB) is accredited by AACSB International and served by more than 60 full-time faculty members. SCB faculty greatly value collegiality and teamwork, as evidenced by the high level of collaboration within and across departments. SCB offers bachelors' degrees in Business Administration with eight different majors. Graduate programs include a Ph.D., an MBA, an Executive MBA, and Masters of Science in several disciplines. Saunders is ranked 58th by US News and World Report.
The Department of Management is the largest in the college with 23 faculty members; 15 of which are tenured or tenure track. The department includes multiple disciplines: organizational behavior and leadership, strategy, supply chain management, global business, entrepreneurship, and decision sciences. The Department of Management houses BS and MS programs in Global Business Management and Supply Chain Management. Additionally, the department houses the Ph.D. concentration in Strategy and Innovation.

QUALIFICATIONS:
REQUIRED:
- Ph.D. or ABD in supply chain management, operations management, logistics, sourcing, purchasing and supply management, decision sciences or related areas from an AACSB accredited or equivalent institution.
- Potential for high-impact research publications relevant to the area of specialty.
- Evidence of teaching effectiveness in supply chain management related areas, including supply chain analytics, operations management, purchasing, international logistics, or other related courses.
- Potential to collaborate within and beyond the Department of Management
