The Associate Director, Deposits plays a critical role in supporting and advancing the Private Wealth Deposits business across both Private Banking and BMO Nesbitt Burns. This position combines business management, deposit pricing strategy, relationship management, and strategic project leadership to drive deposit growth, enhance client and advisor experiences, and support the overall success of the business.

Working closely with senior leaders and key stakeholders across Private Wealth, the Associate Director serves as a trusted advisor, providing business insights, strategic recommendations, and execution support to ensure the delivery of business objectives. The role requires a strong blend of analytical capability, commercial acumen, stakeholder management, and project leadership.

The successful candidate will help shape and execute business strategies, manage critical initiatives, support pricing decisions, and partner with frontline teams to identify opportunities that strengthen the competitive position and performance of the Private Wealth Deposits business.

Key Responsibilities

Deposit Pricing & Business Strategy

- Support the development, implementation, and ongoing management of deposit pricing strategies across the Private Wealth Deposits business.
- Monitor market conditions, competitive trends, and business performance to identify opportunities and risks.
- Analyze portfolio performance, client behaviours, profitability, and growth trends to support strategic decision-making.
- Develop insights and recommendations that optimize business performance while balancing client needs and business objectives.
- Identify emerging opportunities and strategic initiatives that drive growth and enhance the value proposition of the deposits business.

Business Management & Operational Excellence

- Support the day-to-day management of the Private Wealth Deposits business, ensuring alignment with strategic priorities and business goals.
- Coordinate business planning, reporting, governance, and performance monitoring activities.
- Monitor key business metrics and performance indicators, identifying issues and opportunities for improvement.
- Partner across functions to streamline processes, improve operational effectiveness, and support business execution.
- Ensure data integrity, reporting accuracy, and compliance with applicable governance standards.

Stakeholder & Sales Partnership

- Build and maintain strong relationships with Private Banking, BMO Nesbitt Burns, and other frontline sales teams.
- Partner with advisors, relationship managers, and business leaders to support deposit growth objectives and business initiatives.
- Act as a trusted advisor to stakeholders, providing strategic perspectives and business insights.
- Collaborate across multiple business groups to ensure alignment, drive execution, and deliver business outcomes.
- Gather frontline feedback and market intelligence to inform product, pricing, and client experience enhancements.

Strategic Initiatives & Project Leadership

- Lead and support strategic projects from business case development through implementation and post-launch evaluation.
- Coordinate cross-functional initiatives involving multiple stakeholders across Private Wealth and the broader organization.
- Develop recommendations and implementation plans to address business challenges and capitalize on growth opportunities.
- Support initiatives focused on enhancing client experiences, advisor effectiveness, business efficiency, and deposit growth.
- Drive stakeholder engagement, project governance, and execution activities to ensure successful delivery of objectives.

Change Management & Continuous Improvement

- Lead or participate in change management initiatives, including stakeholder engagement, readiness assessments, communications, implementation planning, and sustainment activities.
- Support the introduction of new processes, programs, and business solutions.
- Evaluate outcomes, monitor adoption, and identify opportunities for ongoing enhancement.
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement through data-driven decision-making and thoughtful execution.

Risk & Compliance Management

- Apply sound risk management practices in the execution of responsibilities in alignment with BMO's Risk Management Framework and Risk Appetite.
- Ensure business activities comply with applicable policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Identify, assess, and escalate risks as appropriate while balancing business objectives and risk considerations.
- Support a strong risk culture by making informed decisions that protect clients, employees, and the organization.

Qualifications

- Typically 5-7 years of experience in financial services, wealth management, private banking, product management, business management, strategy, consulting, or a related field.
- Post-secondary degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Commerce, or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Strong understanding of deposit products, pricing strategies, and business management principles.
- Knowledge of Private Wealth, Private Banking, Wealth Management, or the broader financial services industry.
- Demonstrated experience supporting strategic initiatives, business growth, and cross-functional projects.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate complex information into actionable insights.
- Proven ability to influence stakeholders and build effective relationships across diverse business groups.
- Strong project management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
- High degree of initiative, sound judgment, and ability to work independently in a dynamic environment.
- Advanced proficiency in data analysis, business reporting, and data-driven decision-making.

Salary :
$70,000.00 - $150,000.00

The above represents BMO Financial Group’s pay range and type.

Salaries will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications for the role, and may include a commission structure. Salaries for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on number of hours regularly worked. For commission roles, the salary listed above represents BMO Financial Group’s expected target for the first year in this position.

BMO Financial Group’s total compensation package will vary based on the pay type of the position and may include performance-based incentives, discretionary bonuses, as well as other perks and rewards.
